I live in a townhouse and I park under an oak tree, my car has been buried in leaves for the last two weeks. Anytime I go anywhere they just fly off my car as I’m leaving my complex and get on a main road.
My water bill is on auto pay, and I haven't looked at it in forever. Looked at it this morning. Since August, every month my bill has been $36.24 with the county. All i'm getting charged for is the customer service charge, water base charge, and sewer base charge. Do I just let this keep rolling? Not sure if they'd be able to back bill me or not.
This happened to me and my entire neighborhood in Fort Myers back in 2021. Lee Utilities used to do do remote auditing of water usage using bluetooth car passes, they didn't catch that the auditing system failed and showed no usage for the neighborhood for almost a year. All of us got charged the base minimum of $30ish/month, sounds like it might be the same thing. Good news is they didn't make us back pay anything because they couldn't confirm the usage, just fixed it moving forward.
Daughter had a soccer game at Monroe Middle School this afternoon. Tampa Bay AirFest going on in the background was pretty cool. The F-18 demonstration was in the middle of their game.
Lol used to be our “home field” as a kid growing up for club soccer and the fields were a shithole. I know my club team merged with another but there’s literally nothing in south Tampa.
Yeah, we're just doing a quick season of TBU rec league since it's primarily on Sunday and that's the only day my daughter isn't doing something else.
Single/childless and I have zero idea about ages but have seen a bunch of really young kids at the AHN turf field on Saturday mornings kicking the ball in some kinda organized thing. Glad there are more opportunities these days and soccer is way more mainstream but jealous.
I know Boo MFer! and PolkChops recognize this plaza. I had no idea Dannyboy Cane was a Westchase guy! Now I know to keep my head on a swivel when I'm out and about.
I was in that shopping center today picking up lunch from the So Fresh. I’ve been to that place before, chicken parm from there is solid.
I accidentally went down that way Friday to get a car wash on South Gandy not realizing the air fest was going on All my friends live down in Soggy Bottom these days and I’m over by Water St so Selmon Express has become my best friend Seems like that area should continue to build up, BUT the traffic situation on Westshore and Gandy is insanity
Same since I usually go to the gym after work on Tuesdays. We used to get catering for our office from there once a month before our company changed our lunch policy to more of an individual allowance. The manager there is a good dude, would always deliver if I shot him a text the day before.
I've been in this part of town for 11 years and I still haven't eaten at Marina's, McDivots, or So Fresh. I need to expand.
what’s good Tampa folks any good hikes in the area to do Sunday morning going to USF graduation Sunday night
But seriously, this seems to have some good options. I've heard good things about Hillsborough River State Park, but have never ventured out there. https://floridahikes.com/tampa
All hikes in Florida are just walking around in the woods or in a swamp but you can find something that at least gets you outside for a few hours.
I went to Three Corners pizza by Amalie before the Lightning game last Thursday and Water Street looked like a great “hiking” area as well. My head was on a swivel.
“And here we see the common female, also known as ‘basic’. You can usually spot her by her lululemon or Fabletics attire, a white or black headband, and equipped in her feet are either ugg boots or oncloud white tennis shoes. A very telltale sign she will exhibit as being basic is the coffee cup or carrying a Stanley mug. These traits are usually what drives the wild males, also referred to as “bros” out from slumber and a sedentary life to actually roam out in such areas” -David Attenborough probably.
My buddy has been a member for a few years. I played in November. Course didn’t seem special. Clubhouse food was good. Men’s locker room was nice enough. It was great to get out on a course at 5pm on Black Friday and play in 2 hours. That’s what you’re paying for IMO. That and the common run in with a drunk Gruden.
Nice for Tampa anyway. Locker room needs a refresh. The men's grill is pretty sweet. The food and bev program is good, but any event at the club (Mother's Day, etc.) is priced at an obscene rate. Membership base keeps getting younger with original members getting older and dying or moving into retirement homes, etc. Just as bougie as the neighborhood.
It’s basically $5k then $250/quarter until you turn 40. If it’s transferable that isn’t THAT bad, but idk if I want to be on the hook for $70k when I turn 40. Carrolwood I think is $6k initiation fee. Waiting to hear back from Tampa Palms and some others. Any this thread recommends looking at?
Record high temps today and my AC is suddenly not blowing cold air. Just had it serviced at the beginning of the month in anticipation for summer and everything looked good, so not sure what the problem is. Of course my HVAC tech next door neighbor is out of town right now. Hopefully an HVAC tech can make it out tonight... Edit: crisis averted. Capacitor in the outdoor unit needed to be switched out. We had an extra one after this happened a few years ago. Cool air flows
I’m a member at Carrollwood. I still rarely get the time to play. Like twice a year. I eat there more with the family and my kid goes to summer camps.
I actually had an HVAC tech look at ours this morning because it was rattling a bit this past weekend and lo and behold it was also the capacitor outside that was going bad. Original one so it lasted ~5 years. Replaced that, topped off the refrigerant and serviced everything else and feel good to go into this hotter than hades summer.
Gonna be at TPA at noon but staying near the Amphitheater so anywhere. Bonus points for waterfront unless something is too good to pass up
Hard Rock? For waterfront that's not too far out of the way, you can do American Social or Jackson's. Rick's on the River is a good seafood dive/oyster bar. Ulele and Oak & Ola are by the river, but not directly on it. Still good though. Hula Bay and Salt Shack are a little more out of the way. Whiskey Joe's is by the airport but on the way to Clearwater and is another run of the mill seafood bar/grill. Lawnole23 probably has some other suggestions.
Pretty sure I’ve said it before, but there can’t be a worse run CFA in the country than the one by the stadium.
