Anyone have power? Still in Jacksonville, sounds like gas deliveries tonight will start easing things up on that front.
power came back on at my in laws in lutz for a solid 30 seconds today, and then went back off. apparently they’re now on a boil water notice too.
Back in south Tampa, unfortunately was unable stay any longer in Jax. Feels so weird it’s this dark, can only hear generators.
Anyone in south Tampa with anything resembling power? For all Meatball Ron’s talk about the “50k lineman ready to go” the Teco map looks pretty bad, showing 421k outages and 229k in Tampa.
It seems pretty random other than grocery stores and hardware store type places having power. I live in Citrus Park and like a mile away Westchase has power. My parents don’t have power in Carrolwood but there’s linemen in the area when I was going with them to get lunch.
Right and with the resources that were continuously bragged about like an army I didn’t expect to see virtually zero of them in south Tampa.
I look up the TECO outage map every couple of hours to see what the number is. It says it’s updated every 5 minutes but not sure how accurate that is middle of the day compared to like 9:00 tonight. I don’t bother checking specific addresses anymore since there don’t seem to be updates to those or any estimates other than the estimates for the counties. Their CEO said they had to repair their infrastructure the last two days and they’ve been flooding residential areas today.
It’s gone done almost 70k today South tampa, especially close to gandy is absolutely fucked. They have to rebuild the entire grid. They aren’t just fixing the lines or replacing transformers. It was all under water
which part? The number? It’s actually gone down almost 10k since I posted https://outage.tecoenergy.com/mobile or having to rebuild? That’s coming from someone in TFD and people I know who had over a foot of water in their houses
Teco is lazer focused on outages in bumfuck parts. Why actually do work in South Tampa to possibly allow businesses to open or whatnot? Like I get that it’s fucked but feels like the dude in the group project shifting blame to everyone eise. Wild how those increased rates didn’t result in increased preparedness.
Under 300k now the other side of the street has power. Currently enjoying a beer a independent and going to find a place to watch bucs might get a hotel tonight if we don’t have power by end of the game. Need a bed with cold a/c
Neighbor let us borrow their window AC unit. Entire family will be sleeping in one room tonight. Jigga i thought you would like this picture posted from the Venice Shark tooth page. Someone just pulled all those over the weekend.
Got ours back in carrollwood. We’ll see if it lasts. Got it back at 8ish yesterday and it went out at 2am
Still out of power in South Tampa, other units in my building (like 1/3) somehow have power. Make it make sense.
Everything I've heard about him has been positive and obviously he's done so much for the city and the Bolts
Imagine the reaction to someone fresh out of college in ticket sales making $35k a year getting a $50k bonus. Went big and ordered Tito’s at Mac’s happy hour yesterday.
They aren't and I'm not saying they should be, but it's still paltry. We're conditioned to tolerate this.
I mean ultimately you're not wrong but comparatively for a billionaire he's as good as it gets. Bar is low as fuck but the Glazers sure as shit wouldn't do that. In terms of actual human interaction I also haven't heard a bad thing about Vinik (I completely understand your point and the general ethos).
Have posted before I worked there during training camp a decade plus ago, it taking till like 2017 or whenever to build an indoor facility was nuts. After practice in the morning they did walkthroughs in afternoons, when it stormed (virtually every day late July/early August) said walkthroughs had to be done at the St Lawrence middle school gym just south of Hillsborough Ave. Best story (getting players to afternoon walkthrough) involved me trying to back a 16 passenger van into the loading dock at One Buc Place alongside another van. Once I got it backed in the players got on, in the rush I didn't switch from reverse to drive. Took my foot off the gas and the van jerked backward, I fucking slammed my foot on the break. Got everything copacetic, at that point the players laughed/pointed out Darelle Revis was in the van and how I needed to thank god and everything else he was ok or the whole city would hate me. Bucs sucked that year but I'm still very glad I didn't injure Darelle Revis.
Anyone in the city have their debris picked up yet? The map they set up and said would be updated daily hasn't updated in a week. Supposed to be picking up 7 days a week I know it’s a huge job, but doesn’t seem like their 90 day goal is going to happen
Also, they are making it clear that they won’t pick up sections of trees grater than 100 lbs, but the subcontractors that cut up all the huge oaks up here just cut the limbs up and left some massive trunk sections on side of the road. Idk what’s going to happen there
Anyone in real estate here? Super curious to see what impact these two storms have over the next 6 months
In South Tampa area they picked up stuff today. Anyone pretending like they have an idea 6-12 months down the road isn't realistic.
