Can't believe anyone liked the BBQ at Ribbits. It was shit. You know you suck if you can't survive in that spot.
Yes it was mangroves, but had been a bar/restaurant type of place called Sunova Beach for about the past 9 months.
I land in one hour. Dinner tonight at Mis En Place with my customer and likely turning in early. Busy with a work thing all day tomorrow and then I'm free until next Thursday night. Thinking about getting tix to the SCF tomorrow night. Hollatcha boy.
I'll buy the first and last round if you wanna get blackout drunk at Hyde Park Cafe Saturday Night....
I missed these posts, but will take them under advisement. What are the best off weekend nights at some of these spots? Tampa seemed to roll up kinda early when I was down last, of course, I didn't stray far from the Hotel Marriot Riverside. Do I need to go into Ybor City and dodge gangbangers for fun on a Wednesday night?
You should check out ybor. Maybe do a dinner there and 1 drink. I like el puerto, Carmine's, and a Greek place. Name escapes me right now. Sure tmb will hate but I also love Columbia. Once again, I think you should go check out post card inn hotel on st. pete beach one day. Catch sunset (as good as anywhere in the U.S.) at their tiki bar and then go to downtown st. Pete.
What's going on with the flooding in Tampa? Is it similar to Miami where it's a long term problem or just a random flood?
Carne in Ybor is probably my favorite place down there at the moment. Ybor is a great place to get dinner and some drinks. Just make sure you're gone by 10:00 and you're golden.
Wednesday night is AUCD at macdintons form 9-11pm for $10. Includes a number of cigar city drafts in the beer garden as well.
Happens any time there's any kind of substantial rain in South Tampa. And Columbia is way downhill from what is used to be.
I like The Columbia. I've only been twice but I've enjoyed what I got when I went there. Great papaya which is one of my favorite dishes.
BBQ was alright but one night I got it when I was drunk, I woke up with what felt like a rock in my stomach and spent a good amount of my morning on the toilet.
Yeah any place at that location should print money with all the people wasted after Soho. You're competing against a few food trucks, Pita Pit, and Jimmy Johns.
Right. And I'm sure rent is pricey, but it's not like they had the expense of a really nice restaurant. The "building" was a shithole.
There is a Columbia in driving distance to me just past my favorite restaurant (euphemia haye), so my opinion is valid damnit. I just don't think it sucks like some do, however I've never recommended it before.
And you haven't garnered your restaurant street cred back from me yet Boo MFer! for saying Beach Bistro on Anna Maria was "ok."
No, but the downtown Embassy Suites is nice. Free booze from 5-7 in the lobby and the complimentary breakfast is actually good.
need dinner recs, can't go to the Rays game tonight and my gf isn't coming in until later than expected. I know most of the high end places, but need something everyday delicious. hopefully local. staying near westshore/airport area instead of downtown. Lawnole23 War Grundle Hank Scorpio Boo MFer!
