Where is Coppertail? I've heard good things. The new Tampa Bay Brewing Company restaurant/brewery opened near Hillsborough and Race Track Road. Looking forward to checking it out.
Coppertail is alright. I like the atmosphere and the staff more than the beer (which is actually pretty decent). TBBC has terrible product.
Having an SUV in South Tampa should be mandatory. I made it thru some crazy shit yesterday on one street. Just have to find your way thru back streets that are higher. Was like a game.
Was out of town this weekend...what the hell happened? My buddy who lives off Swann had his entire apartment flooded. Everything ruined, including his car. I had some friends send me some pictures, apparently my area was completely under water. Don't know if I'll be able to drive to work if it continues raining this morning.
Be safe friends. There are a ton of streets flooded. I live right off Howard and work on Boy Scout blvd near the mall and I barely made it to work this morning.
Welp went out and tried to go in. Couldn't make it. People were traveling south on Howard. Treating it like a two way street. Kennedy done as well. Henderson looks like a river.
oh cool, the tropical system actually became organized last night and will be raining even harder/steadier all day...and the storm is slowly moving ENE meaning all that stuff off the coast will be headed this way
Working from home. In Carrollwood though so no flooding. Wish my wife's boss didnt make her drive into downtown today.
If you're on the interstate into downtown she should be fine. I live in South Tampa and take Henderson to Dale Mabry to get to work so it was a no go. I decided to not go to work in case my laundry room decided to flood again. It did. Luckily already had towels in position and shop vac ready to go so after 30 minutes got it all up. It's still a steady rain but no more flooding since then as long as I can avoid downpours I should be okay. Decided to bring a shit ton of work home with me this weekend that I didn't end up getting to so been able to work from home and actually be productive. My wife drove my Accord from our house up to Martin Luther King and somehow avoided all the flooding must have timed it perfectly leaving at 7.
Holy shit, what are you supposed to do there? You can't really keep going in a car and you can't back up.
I was there for work yesterday. I went down two roads and had to turn around, but made the 3 mile drive from the airport to the office in about 30 minutes. Somebody at the office caught a 6" catfish in the parking lot that took a wrong turn a got beached. Released it back into a huge puddle that took up a culvert and 8 parking spaces. Site visit in St Pete got cancelled, so I was like peace and drove to Sarasota.
Reef donkey is supposed to be good, but I haven't tried it yet. Coppertail has an amazing taproom, but none of their beers blew me away. Angry chair, however, is worth a visit and I enjoyed all their beers last time I went.
Over the weekend I went to 7seventh Sun Brewery in Dunedin and then the Dunedin Brewery a 1/2 mile away. 7Seventh sun is small but I really liked their Mangrove IPA. They have a Belgian Tripel called Life in Velvet that was awesome. My favorite beer out of the both places we went. Dunedin Brewery had a Peach Porter that was really good too.
Was thinking the same. A sizeable tropical storm whose bands dump rain on us for a couple days would completely disable south Tampa.
7venth Sun. I like to go to Dunedin Brewery for lunch (their wings are excellent) and then do most of my drinking at 7venth Sun
I did the opposite. Went to 7venth and had four 4 oz pours and then had the Mangrove and Life in Velvet. Needed food so went to Dunedin and had the wings. Poutine there was ok.
Question. My wife may be looking for a new job in the near future. She works for a small medical practice as a PA/Administrative Director. The doctor has a psycho wife that has decided she wants to run the medical practice and wants to be boss so this isn't going to work with my wife being the boss under the doctor right now. Anyways, if she doesn't get a job in South Tampa we'll likely be moving to North Tampa or St. Pete depending on location. Where do you recommend a couple with a small child live in the St. Pete area if she gets a job over there? I need to be able to get to South Tampa for work but would like to live in a decently nice area if we were to end up over there.
Miss the scenery at that gym and being able to walk there so much. Not bad, most meatheads in that area go to powerhouse in channelside imo
Would think Shore Acres or Crescant Lake areas would be good. When you say PA you mean Physicians Assistant, correct?
I work out at Calta's boxing gym in Carrolwood. $19 a month. Smells like a locker room, no hot chicks but no distraction so I can get a good pump in.
LA Fitness in Citrus Park. Meh. 32 bucks a month, no meatheads really. Nice smith machines, but the weights are shit.
An attorney and a PA living in Shore Acres? Save a few streets, Shore Acres is trash and the flooding is worse than South Tampa. You're looking at a $2,400 annual premium for flood insurance. It's Old Northeast or bust, Lawnole23. Another good option might be Feathersound. It's centrally located and easy to St. Pete or Tampa. Homes were built in the 70s and 80s so many need updates, but the neighborhood itself is fantastic. The schools are very bad though (some of the worst in all of Tampa Bay), so your kids will need to go private.
I just can't wait for the Vets construction to be done. And if the fucking Linebaugh exit doesn't open soon, I'm going to lose it.
