I'm a few miles from the boat parade but just started raining here, hopefully everyone is safe on the water
Anyone interested in going to the DMB concert on Wednesday? Got an extra ticket for up front in the pit.
They’re doing a complete remodel on the inside. End of June they were just finishing laying all new brick flooring and everything else looked pretty gutted still.
fucking hell I didn't realize it was that bad, those aren't case numbers only quarantined but that's a lot
My kids are part of that quarantine group due to my wife testing positive last week. Thankfully we're all asymptomatic and the wife is already symptom free.
We got the call last Thursday that our first grader was near a kid who was covid positive in the lunchroom on the first fucking day.
Damn I just realized this thread existed, life-long St Pete resident here Have we had the whole St Pete vs Tampa argument a million times already? Let's rehash that and come to the common sense conclusion that St Pete is way better
Gonna disagree with that especially when our friends, family and jobs are in Tampa. Downtown St Pete is cool if you don’t have kids or are young and single.
Team Tampa. I'm not anti-St. Pete but more to do in Tampa for what I want to do. In summary, Land O' Lakes is the best place to live.
Tampa is slowly coming around and getting better restaurants/bars/entertainment. Personally, St Pete has more interesting things to do overall, but Tampa will catch up in the near future.
With Covid, wife isn’t comfortable doing anything other than eating outside. We can just do that with our son. She’s a homebody.
Lived in St Pete since November. Outside of one-off events like bucs/lightning, busch gardens, hard rock (maybe more than one off for the gamblers), I'm not sure what Tampa has that SP doesn't. Happy to be corrected Tampa people...
I've never been to Hyde Park. Per Google, "Upscale Hyde Park is renowned for its dining and nightlife scene along South Howard Avenue, or SoHo, with relaxed global restaurants, local institution Bern's Steak House, and cocktail bars that attract a young nighttime crowd. Hyde Park Village shopping center offers international chain stores alongside indie boutiques. Nearby, the University of Tampa is known for the Moorish minarets and domes of Plant Hall." DTSP has dining, nightlife, global restaurants, cocktail bars, indie boutiques DTSP doesn't have Bern's nor, to my knowledge, international chain stores, whatever those are. Bern's is an institution no doubt. Davis Islands has the best dog beach IMO. Also I'd imagine Tampa has better golf courses. Not much to choose from that isn't private in SP.
South Tampa is only private courses from I know have to go north. I really like St. Pete but it's just a no go because of the schools. I've turned into a South Tampa person so I won't ever leave.
I personally like Tampa more than St Pete, but a case can be made for either depending on what you like to do and working situation.
Tampa has better schools and better selections of family neighborhoods. Plus, I’ve lived in Tampa pretty much my whole life and I remember when St. Pete was barren unlike now. I’ve never had a desire to live in Pinellas.
The Kitchen, Water Oak, Nona's pizza, Sandwich on Main are all great depending on what you're looking for. Plus a couple good breweries/bars in the area
Wait until Tarpon Nole looks at a map and sees that 1st Ave. N. becomes 1st Ave. NE when you cross over 1st St. N.
In St Pete; Streets go North/South Avenues go east/west aside from the occasional random street names (e.g. MLK which is also known at 9th street) its a very easy grid system. North of central ave is X Ave N, south of central ave is X Ave s .
