We’ve talked about leaving Westchase, but I don’t see it happening. South Tampa would be better for my drive to work, but there’s no way I can afford the 5-bedroom, 3-bath pool home I have now if we moved there. Moving to Odessa, Lutz or Wesley Chapel would give me new(er) construction, but it’s so far removed from everything. I’ve got some friends in Hunter’s Green, but fuck New Tampa. For me, there’s nothing that checks more boxes than Westchase.
The lack of serial killers is a pro, but the poor schools and potential to be murdered by a non-serial killer land on the con list.
I don’t have kids (yet) so that schools aren’t an issue. Just enjoying the bars, food, and short commute to work. I’ll actually probably end up moving to Odessa, Seffner, or Thonotosassa within the next 3-5 years.
Feel like we'll sell in the next 2-3 years, but not really sure where we'll go. May stay in the Westchase area or possibly explore options in Safety Harbor, Dunedin, or Palm Harbor.
Funny you mention that. Have a coworker that married someone into horses. I saw this shirt last week and sent it to him.
Going to need to kill some time tomorrow waiting for a flight out of Tampa. Any recommendations for best brunch spot or what else I should do with like 4 hours.
You could bounce around Armature Works for a few hours. New community style place with a bunch of options. The best breakfast joint in Tampa, pinky’s, changed their whole operations recently and ruined it.
Whole staff has been overhauled. They are shopping daily for ingredients at local markets. Menu is completely new. Never more than 12 items (which I know can be a good thing). Owner went up to Charleston during Irma and liked the efficiency of the restaurants she saw there and is attempting to replicate it. It’s crazy- no wait any more on the weekend. Sad. All of the quirky coffee mugs are gone. Disposable cups only. Edit: it’s funny looking at the reviews online. People lamenting the change.
If they would hurry up and finish construction on Linebaugh and Sheldon that would be dope. West chase here, too. Job kinda takes me all over between Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco so Westchase is good geographically. Would love to be closer to downtown for nightlife. Can only stumble home from Maloneys and WOB so many times. How’s Tampa Bay Brewing on racetrack? Any of you checked it out?
It’s solid, I work by there and have gone for a few work events. If you’re getting food the calzones are humongous.
One of our regular dinner spots on the weekends. Wife got me a mug club membership there for father's day, so I frequently stop by on my way home from work for a quick beer as well. Super cool bar staff.
After exploring the areas that will be best for us and where I need to be for work. I think we might settle down in the Bexley area. Really wasn’t planning on building again but will probably be the route we go.
