I grew up here so while it sucks I'm used to it and would much rather be hot as hell for five months than be cold for five months.
I consider it hot here of course, but I don't ever consider the heat an issue . Being in a heat wave in an area that isn't prepared sucks (bike tires were melting in san francisco one summer).
Agree. Plus, we're lucky we are close to the water or its easier to access pools. Mowing and taking care of the yard on the weekends doesnt bother me because I know i can cool off in the pool. If I was in the middle of Mississippi or Alabama where it still humid as hell and couldnt get to the ocean easy it would bother me more. Like living in a permanent parking lot.
I can vouch for the MS reference. Growing up there was brutal. 100 degrees and 100% humidity with no wind will kill you. While it’s hot here at least it’s breezy, not as humid, and like you said easy access to water.
Decided to head down to Sarasota for the boat races 4th of July weekend. Just booked a room at the new Embassy Suites that just opened up downtown.
I agree. I love being over here and not dealing with Orlando airport anymore. A couple months ago I thought my flight was at 7am but when I get in the car at 5 to head to the airport I got the reminder that my flight takes off at 6:10. Got to the airport at 5:30. Made it through security and to the gate at 5:50 to board with the last group. Only issue was the tram was down and had to walk through the parking garage.
My sister is in Tampa and I'm always impressed with the airport when I visit. That cuban spot is always quality for lunch too
That sounds like white knuckle driving. Was surprised I didn't lose power in South Tampa with all the lightning.
Friends in Seminole Heights lost it for a good while, the utilities in that area are absolute garbage
Haven’t had to run the sprinklers for 2 weeks....this has been great. It’s getting dark and thundering as we speak.
Speaking of Seminole Heights, has anyone been to Thee Burger Spot? Just had it for the first time yesterday. Great burgers for super cheap.
Also, highly recommended the boozy pig on cypress. Amazing butcher shop and great food. Had their take on a Cuban sandwich that was amazing
DMB in Tampa is one of my favorite nights of the year. Going to have to make the drive back next summer.
Nope. Wife works for the state. Technically, we could have left Florida, but her insurance wouldn’t transfer and I’m self-employed.
My cousin recently moved out to Nocatee. Head nurse anesthetist at the hospital there. Played baseball at UT. If you see him tell him I said hi. He has brown hair.
It's like we go a month without and then we get way too much which can have a reverse affect on my lawn.
Mine is great but the weeds is what I was talking about plus we too much rain can rot out the roots in some areas.
