Vekic up a set on Kvitova on TC.
Looks like Petra is out of gas after 3+ weeks of a lot of tennis.
Garbine-Yastremska on now. She's just 18, but Yas has power for days. Super fun to watch.
Been watching both all week. Glad they are on TC.
Took her down and was pretty convincing in doing so. Do yourself a favor this weekend and make sure you are awake for one of the introductory portions of a match in St. Petes.
I caught a bit of the player intros the other day, with the light up tennis rackets and the odd dance routine in the tunnel. Bizarre is the only word I have for it.
This stinks. Always a great event, and now there's not a WTA event in the week before the US Open. Sabalenka won it and had her breakout there last year.
Shapo beats Klizan. FAA playing the rubber match
Bertens knocks off Sabalenka in the St. Pete SF's, unfortunately. Bertens-Vekic tomorrow in the Final.
Only seen bits and pieces of his two matches, but Shapo's looked real good on the clay.
I didn’t get to watch any of them. But last year clay is where he broke out. FAA also loves clay. Weird
FAA gets the win. Win the series 3-2
I love how Tennis Australia at this point is either a hothead/asshole/enigma (Tomic, Kyrgios, Hewitt, etc) or the nicest, most-likable people on tour (De Minaur, Barty) with seemingly no in-between.
Interesting hire. Had been David Goffin's coach until just recently.
Pretty good match starting on TC between Paire and Berdych.
Paire is so unpredictable just like all the French players. But man when he is ON he is fun to watch
We're getting Paire yelling at the umpire over stupid shit. Figured he'd be locked in playing in France, but guess not.
When he is on, his fore hand is ridiculous
Carreno Busta just retired after winning the 1st set. Right arm injury
OMG, Petra gives the details.
'I screamed, there was bloody everywhere,' Kvitova was quoted as saying by the CTK news agency. 'I had a knife on my neck from behind.'
El Shapo looks so different without the flow
Nasty return to win the set for Shapo
Unreal point there at 40-40.
Sacha acting like he's Rafa or Fed now
That point was goofy
Good stuff from Shapo.
Still mind blowing all courts dont have Hawk Eye. Watching some Doubles I got money on. They call it in on Deciding Point and they blow up. Throwing rackets The one guy just climbed the umpire chair saying how do you miss it.
Monfils-Tsitsipas tomorrow. Get your popcorn ready.
Probably Madrid where he has won, and Rome are my 2 guesses
That's my thought as well, though I don't know if he wants to play B2B weeks on the clay like that.
Monte Carlo and Madrid would give him two events, with plenty of rest from IW/Miami before Monte Carlo and a couple weeks of rest after that before Madrid, if he wanted to go that route.
Kevin Anderson withdraws from New York next week with an elbow. Big Foe takes his place.
Shapo looks like shit
Monfils/Stefanos starting soon
Very confused as to why the US Fed Cup team is playing Kenin over Danielle Collins in singles this weekend.
Halep vs. Pliskova in Fed Cup on TC right now. Simo just took a very tight first set playing on the road. Really fun match so far.
Jo-Willie back! Wins Montpellier.
Fed Cup was a lot of fun over the weekend
Nobody posted this but Londero becomes the 3rd player ever to have never won an ATP level match to win a tournament. Last guy was Darcis. Crazy he went and beat some pretty good veterans on Clay as well.
Paire serving up 5-4. Looks very good. Just waiting for him to implode though
There it is Wawa breaks back
God bless Benoit Paire. That was a great racket smash.
Fantastic racket smash
Most Paire thing I have seen
