Murphy flashes dominance at times. I blame our shit DE coach for not getting everything out of him. Hobby, who i wish would come back to Clemson, will turn him into a monster.
If he adds some pass rush moves he will be a stud. Should be effective against the run from day one. Great size, athleticism, and motor.
Who we liking for next pick? I really like Tyrique Stevenson, CB from The U. Don’t think he will fall to us though.
If our roster strategy is to pay our big 3/4 on offense, invest the leftover money on the OL, and draft defense about 80% of the time I’m cool with it
Same. They've drafted the defensive backfield especially well as of late, so I'm trusting those picks, too. They certainly value speed. They have the weapons to score with the top of the AFC, but the QBs and WRs atop the conference are loaded. Nobody will ever be able to shut down the top few offenses, but just a couple extra stops in a game via pass rush, pass breakup or turnover can flip the script in a big game. The AFCCG was the perfect example. I suspect today could still bring depth at OL and a project at TE, and RB is an actual need on offense. Though there are quietly still some solid short term vets still out there I'm FA if they decide to move on from Mixon. On defense, there's still room for DT, though I'm not sure what's left. I would also not be shocked to see at least one more DB. Either a corner or a cover safety with some versatility to maybe be a depth piece to play some nickel if God forbid injuries hit. That extra sixth from the trade may be competition at punter.
Love that we got another year of Trey and it seems to help the cap situation for the upcoming extensions. A win win
Anyone else think it's a little weird that we're less than two weeks out and Joe still hasn't signed a contract?
The Bleacher Report app just informed me that we signed Will Grier. Send Joe to the unemployment line
Something about Caroline Blackburn saying they have 25 for the D tackle. This was during the Bengals All Access episode they just released yesterday. Go to 39:45
It would be nice if Burrow didn't play like shit at the start of every season. Need to win next week now.
Who cares about cap space. We didn't win the super bowl the last two years because backup OL had to play and couldn't protect Burrow. Collins was the best backup lineman for both tackle and guard spots. They don't need him to be healthy now, they need him for later in the season if/when injuries occur. That is an old school cheap move by the Browns that probably is going to come back to bite us.
