Sorry to hear it, but I understand. It's Vegas. The games are created with the odds in the house's favor. There are a few elite poker players and sports betting sharps who make a living at gambling. The poker players win off of the other players, not the house. Otherwise, everyone loses in the long run. I do not gamble, but I throughly enjoy the city for the many other entertainment choices that it offers.
A buddy of mine out there quit gambling cold turkey a year ago after years of it being out of hand and ended his marriage. Mostly sports. He said he feels like a brand new person now. He still plays some now, but he has like $50 a month allowance he gives himself. Working well so far, basically Turing $100 bets into $5 bets, and enough to satisfy the urge. He still handicaps and analyzes the numbers for other people almost daily. He was a decent bettor, like 60% but he was putting down pay checks at a time.
Going to plan the yearly journey. Thinking Oct or Nov. I Always go expecting to lose at tables and win at sports book. Done so last 4 years. End up only down $100 or 200.
Headed to Vegas September 7th to the 10th for NFL opening weekend. My buddy I usually go with plays high roller video poker, and the last two times we have been has hit big jackpots and getting us suites comped halfway through. This time he contacted the westgate and they comped us a 7k square foot suite before spending a dime. It's gonna be a blast.
i just took charge of a bachelor party for next weekend because the best man shit the bed already locked in for top golf and i'm thinking the montecristo cigar bar at caesers as well. probably do the open bar high roller ride because that was a hit the last time. can't decide on a saturday night dinner though. gonna be 12-15 people i think. recs?
i know that's the easy choice but i've done all the best steakhouses there so was thinking something a little outside the box
Bazaar meats would be good but pricey. I've done multiple bachelor parties where we didn't want to spend $100+ a head and have done Batistas hole in the wall. Its like $30 a head and includes food and unlimited house wine. Pretty fun place if you don't care about going high end.
It's one of the options where it's possible for a bettor to come out ahead over the long haul. Expecting to win at it is where people eventually get into trouble.
I dont have a go to spot for dinner but sunday hangover is at Ellis Island. They have an steak and egg breakfast for 6.99.
I get that totally. I just go knowing im going to lose at tables and slots. No question. Guys i dont bet thousands there. Over 4 days I will have like 10 to 15 bets about $ $100 to150 total. If i get $200 to $300 back thats a win for me. It covers my losses at tables. Im not gambling over like $500 the whole trip. Now my buddies that go with me always need loans from me. Lol
I can do that in Ohio To each his own. Just think there's other fun stuff to do that you can do in vegas idk
topgolf right by MGM sportsbook on site 3rd and 4th levels have watiresses in bikini's pool on 3rd level nice change of pace to majority of the trip which is spent indoors gambling
And it's operated by the Hakkasan group. I don't know how it compares to other Top Golf locations, but in my mind I imagine it to be a different experience.
You are doing it correctly. A lot of people start small and get a run of wins which encourages them to throw more money at it. They lose and start chasing.
My buddy is staying at Aria for his anniversary (he's a local) this weekend and so far has hung out with Dylan Ennis and the whole Spurs summer league squad there.
Landed about 12 hours ago. I'm up $1k. Can't wait to see how I lose it all! xec are you working tomorrow!? I've already booked my next trip. Oct 25-28...comped. Jokes on them bc I'll be about 10 days in to the NBA season and that's where I make $$$$$
been eyeing SWA flight availability for March Madness 2018. Still a week away until they update the flight schedule
Headed there in Oct for a long weekend, the first thing to figure out for my trip any cheap eats around the strip I should put on my to do list, breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I don't really like fancy restaurants, so good sandwich shops, food trucks, stuff like that. Doesn't have to be dirt cheap, just good food. In addition to the Taco place mentioned above - Taco El Gordo? Top Golf or whatever has waitresses in Bikinis and a sports book? That sounds like fun.
The combination of good food and cheap eats on the strip is a tough one. Here are some thoughts: 1) Research the eating establishments at the properties that interest you. Look for happy hours where they discount their small plates. Also research brunches on weekends. 2) hamburgers: Bobby's Burger Palace (Mandarin) and Burger Lounge (Aria). Both have very good burgers for $10.00. White Castle by Harrah's. 3) BBQ at Ellis Island Casino. They have excellent happy hour specials too. 4) Five50 Pizza (Aria). Large slices are $5.50. 5) Town Square Food Trucks. Every Thursday from 6 PM-9 PM. Probably a dozen trucks offering many cuisines. It's actually on the south end of the Strip at Sunset and well worth an Uber trip.
Tacos el gordo. Buy $1 beer at the shop next door before you go. Ask about the 'ok ' bag from the security lady. In n out burger if you've never had it. Five 50 pizza at aria Planet Hollywood sports book has good wings Luxor has a good Mexican restaurant Secret pizza at Cosmo. Take the escalator to the. Top floor and walk down the hall to your 11 o clock.
There's a chipotle between casino royale and harrah's that has hit the spot on a couple occasions Whatever you do, don't eat White Castle
Man. The crab cakes with the fennel apple slaw at the foundation room and the pinxto de chorizo at Julian serrano are my favorite dishes in Vegas. Plus everything at tacos El gordo
