Vdara was like $400 total more, so I wanted a good excuse not to book there, but I also didn't know jack shit about it. I think the Palazzo is my favorite hotel I've stayed in Vegas actually. Love it there.

 

vdara has no casino, just hotel. close to aria tho

 

Nugget is the nicest on Fremont but that's a bit of tallest midget situation.

Personally, I love Fremont. It's a blast. Cheap gambling and booze, which is mostly what I'm there for. Lots of weirdos. Everything is much closer than the strip.

But if you're there for nightlife, fine dining, etc. (or have a company card to use) the strip is a better call.

 

Idk man. I had one of my best nights on Fremont playing craps outside next to the golden nuggets shark tank and pool.

I actually know people who live in The Polo Towers. It’s a condo/time-share venue. For a visitor it doesn’t have amenities such as restaurants.

 

Palazzo and Venetian are close to the Convention Center too.

 

The dates are part of the reason prices are high. The porn convention is 1/24-27. Tons of people in town for that. I think the from out of town hooker population goes way up too.

We’re staying with my father in Henderson.

 

Really wanted to go to a game while we’re in town, but we arrive too late Thursday.

Also really wanted to do the MJ Cirque show, but it seems like it’s not running on the days we’re in town.

Definitely doing Giada’s one night, and may take your recommendation on Beauty & Essex.

 

Probably not until this summer. Im starting a new job in Feb and won't have as much vacation as I used to.

Aria: Bardot Brasserie, Carbone, Sage. Catch a Bardot Brunch on the weekend if you can. Make a reservation.
Cosmo: Beauty & Essex, Estiatorio Milo's, E by Jose Andres.
The Cromwell: Giada's
The Wynn: Andrea's.
Caesar's Palace: Mesa Grill

My favorite Cirque du Soleil shows are:
Bellagio: O
MGM Grand: KA

Other show recommendation:
Absinthe at Caesar's Palace.

Other Things to Do:
Top of the World Restaurant and Bar 701 at the Stratosphere. Mainly for the city views.
Bellagio Fountains
Bellagio Conservatory
High Roller Observation Wheel at The LINQ
Skyfall Lounge at The Delano and Lounge 23 at The Mandarin Oriental: for the views.
Have a Verbena at Cosmpolitan's Chandelier Lounge, 2nd Level. It's not on the menu.
Have a cocktail at The Tipsy Robot at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.

Thanks, lots to pick through here. Definitely want to spend some time at the old strip because of the history, cheaper tables, and people watching. We’ve both done the Hoover Dam (both when we were kids.) I was thinking about seeing it again or taking a day trip out to the Grand Canyon.

Now we were hammered and had just been at Top Golf for 3 hours but it was a lot of fun. Tickets were pretty cheap.

What’s the best restaurant within walking distance of the LINQ? I’m underwhelmed with my options right now.

There are probably no less than 150 restaurants within a 15 minute walk of the Linq so we're going to need some guidelines

Cosmo has several restaurants that are excellent. Milo’s and Beauty & Essex are my favorites.

Harvest at the Bellagio is one of the best meals I've had in Vegas.

 

I've never had less than an outstanding meal at Bouchon

 

Boarding in three hours for the long weekend:

• Grand Canyon Friday
• Shooting Saturday, Fremont street and brewery and container world Saturday night
• Mob museum Sunday, some walking around, dinner at Beauty and Essex, Mat Franco at 7:30
• Monday all day on the strip, dinner at Giada’s
• Tuesday 7am flight

Was thinking brunch or lunch Monday before walking the strip. Plenty of play in my rough outline. Just getting engaged in a helicopter tour of the GC Friday, rest is details.
