Oh shit, that probably didn’t end well
I do work for nws, but not the Norman office. I'm just down here for the spring experimental warning testbed
I’ll give you a spring experiment on my warning testbed
My yard is not liking all of this rain at all
That would be way less exhausting
We have 4 inches of rain already and the heavy shit isn’t even here yet
Crazy amounts of rain right now. The cell around Nowata that just went severe passed through here not long ago but it’s picked up speed. Travis Meyer is the best, he couldn’t believe there was nothing on it and said “let’s just call this a severe storm warning because it should be”. Nice to have good people
Tornado warning in Tarrant and Denton counties.
looks to be closer to Denton.
Well fuck. My to be in-laws are in NRH.
It’s northwest of them by now. They’re safe
well look what the cat dragged in
Very interesting day that continues. Confirmed tornado in SE OK right now. Lots of pictures and videos of stuff from the day on Twitter. I'm a few beers deep and will try to share some of those as I go.
This is a good beer
Best IPA made in the state imo
help send lifejackets
lol close range all right
That's sounds really dumb
What should I try to get before I leave?
A shit ton of Prairie and Roughtail beers
Prairie is old news, they haven't had a good new offering in like 3 years. And they never made a good IPA.
Roughtail is fine, but if you were trying to go full okie IPA cunt, you should have listed some American Solera products
not sure I saw the cunty Oklahoma IPA twist itt after an active day
I'm already regretting going that hard. Love me some F5 though
does anyone in this thread have a weather radio and actually have it programmed and at the ready?
I feel like it's not anything most ppl have/have ever had
no... I only posted that because McAlester is a good sized town and that intense line just went through there
Yeah, didn't mean to come across that way. I just have a weird relationship with weather radio
nope, i have the official tornado thread tuned on tmb radio
saw there were 2 naders in dfw. any damage reports? looks like they were going right up i-35w
I’m gonna let this slide for the sake of the thread. Hey lomcevak try Hoptometrist or Everything Rhymes with Orange by Roughtail or Color Block by Prairie (if you can find it)
I endorse this message. Beer cunt below
American Solera is doing the best hazy IPAs in the state but you're not going to find it in OKC, the stuff they do distribute is generally their sours (great if you like sour) and I imagine it goes fast. Roughtail was doing the best before but once they switched to producing Rhymes w/ Orange year-round it dropped significantly in quality. They do still do some one-offs though that are very solid and keep them competitive with AS, current ones being the 6th Anniversary Ale and Milkshake Mosaic. Elk Valley does a very good IPA in Magic Juice but it has to be fresh, it seems to malt over much faster than others. Prairie makes some killer stouts, possibly some of the most popular in the country, but anything else they do is largely forgettable. As far as your standard style IPA (the above are all into the haze craze), F5 is the most popular in the state and Alpha Hive is great too when they make it. Stonecloud in OKC is also making some great beers, their sours might be better than Solera and the IPAs that I had were solid too.
In the spring /summer I did when I lived in Kansas and Oklahoma. Couldn't get it to work in Nebraska and I'm not sure I'll use it up in ND.
This is a man of taste and discernment
You appear to be the quality of a guy that would go to the best beer festival the I35 corridor has ever seen. You, sir, are not a poser.
Should have gone with blown in but I will allow it. I'm around and some people know how to find me. A 9 month old tends to make it hard to spend hours or days looking at models, radars, and social media ahead and during an event.
Yesterday was a boom and bust all in the same. The mix was there was for a bigger outbreak but the environment had other ideas.
This guy does. Few years back when radio shack was going out of business; I bought a bunch from the local stores for pennies and gave them as presents to people. Even had one on my desk at work that ended up becoming the de facto weather alert system because the company's provider was at least 5 minutes behind.
Yes, so it will wake my ass up at night if necessary. Kind of sucks when you get the 2am flash flood watch though. Only run it during days when I think it will be necessary.
It would appear that shit is popping off right now in TX/OK.
