Storms didn’t want any of the red ryder bbgun. But friends got bombarded by baseball and larger sized hail. Said the cows were running around like crazy looking for cover.
Unless we see major, widespread precip, this is shaping up to be a very bad fire season. Literally everywhere. Gonna be a long summer
Have to hope for some significant relief over the next 6 weeks or so. Once we get to June, this is shaping up to be a particularly dry summer across the Plains.
Sun came out in eastern Nebraska and temps have already jumped 10-15 degrees. Very humid and windy. Probably not a great sign
Had an old timer tell me the last time we had these prolonged winds/dryness was in the 50s and then the Dust Bowl before that. So that's fun.
Awww yeah. Close enough to count it. Can't wait for everything to form overhead and laugh at us as it hauls ass to the East.
Things are starting to pop off in central and North Texas. When that happens this time of day Arkansas is generally properly fucked.
Sirens going off here. Apparently rotation out by the airport but nothing confirmed. Windy as shit with a ton of lightning.
Y'all be safe out there PS that left turn was crazy. Never seen that before. What causes something like that?
Good supercell presentation in TX, southeast of Waco low level presentation looks pretty good (first picture), but you gotta look aloft (second pic) very strong updraft with bounded weak echo region ("hole"/lower reflectivity, top left)....cyclonic rotation (top right, greens toward the radar, reds away...there's your mesocyclone)...updraft evident in bottom left via small area of higher differential reflectivity (ZDR column/higher reds near red box...indicates lots of rain/melting hail being lofted around the updraft); and bottom right shows CC hole (lots of variation within updraft core..dust, insects, rain of varying shapes)
