Confirmed baseballs and a 93 mph gust. So hard and so sad I can't chase it right now Plus, it's a not a populated area, just hitting a bunch of cattle and like 2 ranchers
For some reason I stopped getting notifications. Damn I missed some good ones it looks like. Mostly cows getting fucked up I hope
Isolated supercell in Iowa. New updrafts building to the NW --> nearly stationary movement. Big flooding potential
Got home just in time to see a pretty awesome storm roll by. Pretty incredible view, it passed just to the north of me.

There was one in NW Ark last year that wasn't even severe thunderstorm warned, just popped up out of nowhere. Just one of those things that happens, unfortunately. Having a NWS station there and not having that storm warned is pretty funny though
Where you is TwoPoor? This was maybe 6-7 miles from me. Our sirens in Broken Arrow were loud as fuck. To be expected though since our nearest one is literally 5 houses away.
Has this been an abnormal summer in the plains? Feel like I've been getting a pretty consistent number of severe weather alerts and special weather statements from Hastings throughout the summer.
Probably a coincidence and not indicative of broader trends in rising ocean temperatures leading to more gulf moisture reaching the plains states
It's been abnormally quiet up here. Haven't paid much attention elsewhere. Does seem like that area has been a bit more active
Gotcha. Wet and fairly cool summer bodes well for duck season, so I hope it stays this way. Can't wait to get back.
There isn't really a normal summer. Last 2 years I've shut off my sprinklers at the beginning of August and never turned them back on. Super mild. 2012 there was 6 straight weeks of 100+ weather and exceptional drought in ~80% of the state.
