Good old spring; some parts of MN are under both a severe thunderstorm warning and a blizzard warning.
I think the really good stuff will stay to my southeast, but we should still have some fun today. Expecting some healthy hail. Prospector is going to die though
Key wording here Assuming activity can remain semi-discrete, a few intense supercells are likely to evolve. Parameters appear favorable for the risk of strong tornadoes, along with large hail and damaging winds. PDS wording is being considered in the tornado watch for this region.
A lot going on here. Can see the storms firing in central OK along the dryline. Then look in NW OK and you can see the wildfires + smoke. Slightly black areas with the smoke moving NE
Does TWC go commercial free during outbreaks? Haven’t watched their coverage of stuff in a while because I hate this channel, but it’s decent background noise today while I work
It's really been the winds. They were overforcast/not handled well by the models until last night or so. Forecast inertia took over and blizzard warnings remained even though I was skeptical for Rapid City.
Interesting. Wonder how that pans out for Nebraska. Now our forecast winds are 40-45 sustained with higher gusts tomorrow
