Yeah if there was some reason to believe Putin would not be aggressive in the future then maybe you consider it but considering this is the second time he’s invaded Ukraine not sure why Ukraine should agree to a peace agreement that doesn’t involve Russia leaving him Ukrainian land including Crimea.
Sure. But before you can accept on offer of peace, you have to know the offer of peace. That’s what intermediaries are for.
The unavoidable fact is that if you want the war to ever end, you have to get Russia to agree to end it.
I’m not sure why it’s hard to understand that if you cede ANY land to Russia in return for “peace” that peace is only temporary.
I see where you are coming from with this, and to be clear I am NOT questioning intentions, I just disagree with the idea of there being ANY reward for Russia because of their actions. All they will do is rebuild their military and learn from their mistakes this go-round. And unfortunately, they will try again. They will keep taking as long as Ukraine (or anyone else) is giving. I no longer believe any of the threats they are making. Fuck Russia
I dont disagree per say, but the only way to avoid Russia from coming back is total defeat, i dont see how thats ever possible.
"Get the fuck out of our country and we won't kill your civilians and destroy your property like you did to ours" is an extremely reasonable off-ramp being offered by Ukraine.
Putin (and Russia) doesn't believe the West has the nerve nor the stomach to stick with anything tough. Putin would see it as a 100% success if we forced Ukraine into conceding now. It doesn't bother Russia one bit yet with the body count they have on their side. Shit, they aren't even bothering all that much to retrieve or return the bodies of their dead.
i get that people scream about chamberlain but negotiated peaces are actually very much the norm throughout history
a lot of these poor fucks were probably forcibly enlisted, unfortunately. That said, too bad so sad for the true believers.
Fuck that is some low altitude flying. I can’t imagine trying to maneuver like that at that low level.
Was flying back from Istanbul to Miami and saw woman in line with a like 2 week old baby and I was like oh shit come on. Then she sat down next to me waiting to board and she put her passport down while she got the baby situated and it was a Ukrainian passport and I felt like a total asshole. Didn't hear the baby make a peep the entire flight. Can't even imagine what those two were going through.
You should have explained to her that you were really looking forward to stretching out during the flight and then made her sit in a middle seat somewhere else.
