Those 545 donated tanks take a lot of time to bring online, I saw one estimate that most of the captured equipment is still months out from being turned over to Ukraine forces. But Ukraine has a steady supply of Rus/Sov armor coming to the front this year after repairs/retrofit domestic and foreign
I honestly think we are more concerned about them taking shots at the X-37b. I bet this thing spends quite a bit of time in low orbit over China.
China gots them too. But probably less sophisticated and mainly just because we do https://spacenews.com/chinas-mystery-spaceplane-releases-object-into-orbit/
My first thought was “that’s stupid and completely different” but on second consideration, yeah I could totally see that tit-for-tat. “I mean, they’re both over each others airspace”
I wouldn’t put them that far behind us considering there’s not that much difference between an unmanned cargo shuttle and a hyper-glide-vehicle with a nuke in it.
Look.....I know the actual military calls it a bomb, but the pedant in me just has to point out that if you aren't just dropping it and letting gravity do the work, it's a missile or a rocket, not a bomb.
These types of videos are a dime a dozen these days but man it really is a crazy time where an off the shelf drone with a small grenade can take out a tank without breaking a sweat. Amazing accuracy to drop it in the open hatch. SOP changes for tanks to keep everything closed?
Having to keep the hatch closed 24/7 is going to reduce the efficiency of the tank as well; those things are torture devices at the best of times and cutting out all your air flow is going to drive the tankers crazy just from the smell.
I had to keep a gas mask on for about 5 hours for an exercise once and after about an hour of it itching against five oclock shadow and sweat pooling inside it, I was thinking death by elegant string of pearls configuration couldn't be that bad.
Machine guns with thermal sights to shoot at human wave offensives that happen at night Woof another 180 MRAPs, like jfc that’s over 1100 MRAPs now given to Ukraine
This guy is from the LPR and has generally been dead on- this backs up the Ukrainians are just waiting it out theory
There’s some crazy propaganda coming out that last night 10 or 20 Ukrainians killed 150+ Wagner mercs in a gun fight outside Bakmuht Kind of want to believe it tbh but it’s likely propaganda
Not really far fetched considering about 30 USSOF wiped 300 Wagner off the map in Syria a few years ago
I didn't know that there was almost a second battle https://coffeeordie.com/wagner-group-syria-khasham/ "The lopsided American victory worked as a deterrent a month later when another group of Syrian fighters and Russian mercenaries began a similar buildup near American forces along the Euphrates. This time, when Mattis called his Russian counterpart, the enemy force dispersed, successfully avoiding a second curb-stomping."
counterpoint: those Wagner guys in Syria were highly trained, well equipped mercenaries and these Wagner guys are criminals and drunks dredged up on the street, handed AK-74s, and pointed in the general direction of the Ukrainians.
this isn’t true- some of Wagner is exactly what you described but the majority are Ex-Rus Millitary veterans
Bakhmut is really ugly now, its seemingly getting worse and worse by the hour. Not sure why UKR hasn't just pulled out, the street fights have begun
ASU fans did the same thing to Steve Kerr when he was at Arizona, chanting PLO PLO after his father was murdered in Beirut
Nothing says successful invasion than rushing to do it early, especially when one’s logistics have been fucked the entire war.
I'm completely a twitter/telegram general but here are my hunches/assumptions: 1) We still do not see the use of NATO armor on the front-line particularly in terms of losses. The Russians go nuts on Telegram whenever anything western is destroyed, so I think these lists are actually somewhat accurate: https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/02/attack-on-europe-documenting-ukrainian.html https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/04/answering-call-heavy-weaponry-supplied.html Take away- Ukraine is actually way stronger than what we are see at the front. Ukraine has an outrageous amount of troops being trained across Europe, something like 40,000 every 2 months between Poland, Germany, England, and USA. We do not see those troops really being deployed in fact we see that Ukraine has created 5-6 Mechanized forces recently that are not on the front with mostly Nato equipment and Nato trained troops. I think Ukraine has used its regular army and tdf to contain the Russian army to this point which is why its all Soviet losses on the Ukrainian side, they continue to reinforce these groupings constantly but the NATO arms aren't in use by them. 2) Once Russian mobilization became way larger than what was announced (300,000+ easily), Ukraine ended all offensives and the war went static. Russia has been gaining small amounts of ground for the last 3 months at the expense of artillery and manpower. Its also noted Russia does not use armor in their attacks, they are conserving tanks and apc's. Russia is also conserving missiles and airpower for another offensive. 3) Something flipped 6 weeks ago in the West similar to the 6 weeks prior to the original invasion- the West is moving at blistering pace now to resupply and arm Ukraine 10x including tanks and missiles but most importantly a F ton of very mobile artillery pieces. Hell we see Canada rapidly airlifting armor via planes last night 4) Now we are seeing the panic in the media about a Russian offensive and every "intel" connected source on both sides is saying its imminent including some saying it might've started yesterday in some areas My hunch- the Ukrainians have created a reserve army to meet the Russian offensive wherever it begins using mostly the NATO weapons, troops, and armor. I also think the Ukrainian TDF is probably pretty damn lethal at this point and fearless. This attack will go horribly for Russia I think and will burn out whatever offensive capabilities and armor they have left. The West is preparing for the Counter Attack once Russia exhausts itself in this offensive, knowing that the next mobilization would be 6 months away giving Ukraine that window to route the Russians similar to this past fall. For Ukraine to pull this off they need more men, last couple weeks they have been really trying to get more reserves in their media Next two months are going to be hell
The man was a psycho but he could plan an operation. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a breakthrough; blitzkrieg tactics work for a reason. But the question is can they do anything with it? Sure, get through the lines, cause some havoc, but UKR is going to know exactly where the logistics are coming from to support that break through, and then you have a whole bunch of T72s out of fuel in hostile territory again. I do wonder if the Russian AF has spent the last 6 months getting their shit together to counter the UKR artillery. That could make a difference since Ukraine is still short on high altitude anti air.
Special operations in Russia. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/feb/04/ukraine-special-forces-russia-border
typical idiots in the comments. btw, that cutting oil fucking smells weird and stays in your nose for days, I don't know how the motherfuckers who do that sort of work manage.
I find the lack of PPE concerning considering the amount of moving metal bits they have floating around. Seems like a concussion and cancer factory.
