So the FG Seattle kicked put the game over, but now it’s back to under with the penalty and loss of possession
I give them credit for focusing on making positive improvements to the NFL's rules and broadcasts this go-round rather than wrestling style gimmicks. It gives the league a chance, although I think the lack of star power athletes is going to do them in. Also the team names are bad, like they were created by a video game that was too cheap to get licensing rights.
The rules and broadcast are outstanding. This feels like it will have staying power for that alone. Keep acquiring QBs like Cardale who come from big programs and I think it might work.
Ultimate bad beat for anyone that had Seattle +9.5. Take the field goal and cover off the board then fumble
Yeah, seems like the league should have focused exclusively on cities where they could have used MLS stadiums.
to expound on this as one of this board’s elitist intellectuals: my early impressions are also positive and the league and teams have been good with social media
Team names are shades of early MLS and they all suck. It was a genius move to throw a lot of new ideas into the game imo. The athletes will always be an issue but the quality of football so far is pretty decent.
Going spread / air raid esque can mask a lot of quality of play issues, and I've been pleasantly surprised at the play calling and offenses being used. I would have expected a lot more I formation, 3 yards and a cloud of dust play.
The play clock rules help the tempo a lot for sure, and yeah I’ve enjoyed the play calling in both games. There’s no reason the xfl can’t be the big 12 of pro sports (fun)
I have half a mind to drive to the Meadowlands tomorrow for the Guardians-Vipers game. 82,000 seat stadium and I think they're only selling tickets in the lowest of the bowls.
I feel like this was a big problem with the AAF. I really enjoyed the amount of points yesterday. Seeing the offenses do well was encouraging.
Entertaining product at least. Beats watching two college basketball teams that I couldn’t care less about.
