I like his talent. He hasn't always come across well. I think I can grow to like him though. I certainly would rather that talent was in the Bronx than elsewhere.

If he can’t figure out the fielding, just let him DH next year when our boy gets here.

Not sure on the advanced defensive stuff but I thought Judge was solid defensively. Obviously very good arm.

Chances we let Didi walk next year and let Machado play SS like he wants? Andujar at 3B then.

  10. 40wwttamgib

    40wwttamgib Fah Q

Yeah, not sure of the metrics but it doesn't seem like either are well suited to play LF.

I like Gregorious, but that's not too implausible of a situation, IYAM.

Judge and Stanton are both solid OF's. It won't be good on them long term but they are both solid right now.

I know Machado wants to be SS but I think he's similar to Arod in that he's going to end up too big to stay at SS.

"Although the always-energetic Nick Swisher never made it back to the majors after signing a minors pact with the Yankees in 2016, he’ll end up contributing to the team in a different way. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com writes in the second half of a piece for MLB.com. “Swish” will now serve as a special advisor to GM Brian Cashman. Though the terms of that job are typically pretty broad, Cashman envisions Swisher spending a lot of his time with minor leaguers in the organization. “He had a huge impact on that crew in Scranton when he was playing with [Aaron] Judge, [Greg] Bird, [Gary] Sanchez and all those guys,” said Cashman. “He brought the joy of playing the game on a daily basis, and it was infectious throughout that locker room. The opportunity to bring him into the fold and sprinkle him throughout our farm system was attractive.”On the field, Swisher was a .249/.351/.447 lifetime hitter; his playing career came to an abrupt end after a pair of rough seasons spent with the Indians and Braves from 2014-2015."

So Neil Walker, huh? I'm cool with it. He's a damn good player. Now with Drury and Walker, no clue what that means for Torres, Andujar, Wade, and Torreyes. We can't carry all of them.

Man that is a low price for him and it balances the lineup some. It is bad news for all of those young guys. I would imagine that all of them stay down with Torreyes up. The big question would be keeping Lind or releasing him and then letting Wade stick. Gleyber and Andujar will just stay down and wait for injuries or lack of performance.

    LF - Gardner
    RF - Judge
    1b - Bird
    DH - Stanton
    C - Sanchez
    SS - Didi
    CF - Hicks
    2b - Walker
    3b - Drury

I'd prefer to have Judge and Stanton at 2/3 but I've seen Boone mention splitting them up. If he does, it's Bird or Didi. I'll go Bird but could easily see Didi too. My prefered lineup would be:

    Gardner
    Judge
    Stanton
    Didi
    Sanchez
    Bird
    Hicks
    Walker
    Drury

    2. Judge - RF
    3. Gregorious - SS
    4. Stanton - DH
    5. Sanchez - C
    6. Bird - 1B
    7. Hicks - CF
    8. Walker - 2B
    9. Drury - 3B

    An embarrassment of riches.

Had a buddy ask me today who my favorite AL East team was (besides the Yankees) and after some thought, my answer was the Sox.

I can respect the history and rivalry.

    And ...

    Fuck Tampa Bay (lol)
    Fuck Baltimore
And double fuck the Toronto Blue Jays

Who is your favorite AL East team?
