Maybe, really depends on which one. Some of the young ones are the hot heats that want to show they are the man. Kudos to that one for not.
What an all around shit effort. You can let hogwash hit in that situation. He's a k waiting to happen.
He was crushing in AAA. I was excited to him to come back up. Excited he was sent back down though now, he sucks.
They sent him back to Little League, but it sounds like he'll probably make the All-Star team in 2019 and we may see him at Williamsport.
That's what I had heard, I had hope until he offered at a ball that bounced off the plate in the 9th. At that point your either guessing or just not seeing it.
He does have vision problems so that could be it. Regardless, he hasn’t looked good since the call up.
Random thought but I wish they still had the Lo Hud Yankees Blog. That was pretty good to follow games on too. Now it’s the TMB Yankee thread to chat and follow on.
Would rather just sign him in offseason and not have to give up anyone. But fine with that and then dealing Andujar
Here is the article Spoiler Rosenthal: Yankees emerge as players in the Machado trade sweepstakes Ken Rosenthal For many Baltimore Orioles fans, it would be a nightmare — Manny Machado wearing a New York Yankees uniform as the starting shortstop for the American League All-Star team in nearby Washington, D.C. The Orioles might not trade Machado to their biggest rival and such a deal might not happen before the All-Star Game a week from Tuesday. But according to major-league sources, the Yankees are showing increased interest in Machado, the biggest prize in this year’s trade market. Sources on Sunday identified the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers as the most serious suitors for Machado, but the Yankees’ farm system likely is strong enough to trump any club’s offer, assuming the Orioles are willing to send him to New York as a rental. No deal appears close, and both Brian Cashman, the Yankees’ general manager, and Dan Duquette, the Orioles’ executive vice-president of baseball operations, declined comment. The Orioles’ preference probably is to send Machado to the NL, and the team likely would ask the Yankees for a steeper package than they would accept from other clubs. Still, the Orioles might be more open to a blockbuster with the Yankees than they were when owner Peter Angelos was more active in the operation of the club. Duquette told the Baltimore Sun last December that he would consider trading Machado to a division rival such as the Yankees or Boston Red Sox. It is not known whether others in the Orioles’ hierarchy — which also includes VP of baseball operations Brady Anderson and Angelos’ sons, executive VP John Angelos and ownership representative Lou Angelos – hold the same view. Starting pitching is the Yankees’ biggest need, but the dearth of available impact starters available might push club officials toward more creative ways to improve the team. The Yankees traded for outfielder Giancarlo Stanton last offseason because they coveted his marquee talent and found the terms reasonable, not because he filled a particular hole. Machado, who turns 26 on July 6, would give the Yankees another mammoth right-handed bat to go with Aaron Judge, Stanton and Gary Sanchez, who currently is out with a right groin strain. The Yankees are tied for third in the majors in runs per game, but the additional right-handed thump would perhaps increase their chances against the Boston Red Sox, the team they are battling for the AL East title. The Red Sox feature four left-handed starting pitchers — Chris Sale, David Price, Eduardo Rodriguez and, when healthy, Drew Pomeranz. The Yankees also showed interest in Machado last winter, before they acquired Brandon Drury, before Miguel Andújar took advantage of an injury to Drury to become the starting third baseman and before the Orioles returned Machado returned to shortstop, his original position — and the position he says he wants to continue playing. Machado almost certainly would not balk at playing third for the Yankees, who likely would seek to retain him beyond this season. Sources expressed doubt that Andújar, an emerging AL Rookie of the Year candidate, would be part of a Machado trade. The Yankees could stash Andújar in the minors for the rest of the season and re-install him at third in 2019, or trade him this off-season if they signed Machado long-term. Andújar, 23, leads all major-league rookies with 39 extra-base hits, but he entered Monday with a .305 on-base percentage and poor defensive metrics at third. Machado is a two-time Gold Glove winner at third, and he entered Monday with career-highs in batting average (.313), on-base percentage (.382) and slugging percentage (.560).
Yuck. When I look at this team, that's definitely what I think they need to put them over the top ... a third baseman. What a joke.
He's the best player by far available at the deadline. They need a top tier #2 SP to put them over the top but that guy doesnt exist on the market this year.
I think the LoHud blog jumped the shark when the main author left for a paper in Boston. I believe it was Pete Abraham but I may be remembering incorrectly.
Gotta put the first game on Boone, how do you not PH for Higashioka? Runner on third, one down, leave your worst hitter in? Just stupid, which has been par for the course with this guys roster management
