Was happy to see Voit and Didi finally hit a ball hard that inning. And I guess Judge kinda broke that XB slide too
And the main thing about it is that German got really squeezed on low strikes called balls in the first inning. Then the Yankees get everything called. You never see Sanchez turn around and actually argue with an ump and he did that for German in the first.
The direct quote from Boone to the ump was great. "My guys are f---ing savages in that f---ing box, right? And you're having a piece of s--- start to this game. I feel bad for you, but f---ing get better," Boone said, going on to repeat his thoughts several times. He told Miller to "tighten it up right now, OK?"
Combine the fucking savages in the box with the worst starter statistically in the NL and this is about what you expect.
This team is going to be a real pita in the post season especially if they make a splash and bring somebody in. I’m sure they’ve been talking to Target Brands for a loan or Jerry Lundegaard’s FIL.
Yeah I have my ESPN app set to alert me of any score in yankees games. It's been a rollercoaster I wish I'd have seen
We probably lose if he doesnt catch that. 2 outs so everyone was running so bases would clear if he doesnt make that play.
SP for sure. I was leaning towards staying with what we have unless we could get a top shelf guy that could start in the postseason but man we need help now or our bullpen is going to be dead soon.
Another starter with good postseason numbers. Local media have been hot, hot, hot for Bumgarner but the Giants suddenly are very hot so I think the price would be too high for a guy who will essentially be a rental. If the Yankees can sucker the Mets into trading Syndergaard who is under contract through 2021 then we'd be talking. Mets don't like to deal with the Yankees unless they look like they're getting away with murder on the face of the deal so if that happens expect it to look like the Yankees sold their souls. What a lot of people fail to realize is the Yankees are very good at pimping the value of guys they'd be willing to unload months in advance.
They have a really good lineup that hits bombs but yea not a good look for our staff. Luckily the bats bailed us out.
I think Happ is just sunk cost at this point. We had 9 runs scored through 4 innings and the game has never felt secure. At what point do you keep running a guy with a +5 ERA in late July out there as a contender?
It's a little under 5 but yea he hasn't been good. But someone has to eat innings and he has the 2nd most on the team. If everyone is healthy, I think we'll see Tanaka, German, Paxton, and CC/trade pickup as the 4 starters in the postseason. The biggest question is German. He's been our best pitcher this year but he's already thrown more innings than any year since 2014. Him hitting the IL was a blessing but what's his cap?
