Mike was still coaching against West Coast/Power I football. RPO/HUNH, hell the option was perplexing to him. Mike lives in 2006 and never adapted.

We installed the only Bend-And-Break defense in the existence of college football

We currently have a 100% redzone scoring defense. 88% of the scores are touchdowns.

If you are going to give up points every freaking drive, at least blitz the shit out of them and try to get some turnovers or something.

Lastly, Lincoln has been coach for 20 games. We have 22 turnovers as a defense in those. Goodness gracious

LR has a 17-3 record and has averaged 41 points per loss. That is absolutely absurd. Also, I think OU only has one 4tn down stop all year

When was the last time OU consistently got pressure up the middle from a DT. Gerald McCoy? That would help in the Big 12.

I’m surprised this program had the balls to do it but it needed to be done long ago and everybody knew it. I like Lincoln and the offense kicks ass usually. We need new people with fresh ideas though. It’s the changing of the old guard. The defense has been laughable for years now.

we have the horses to do it, but we have taught them to stand up, catch blocks and play gap control. Bledsoe and Gallimore do their best work getting upfield.

He's not leaving OSU until he gets a head coaching gig, or until he's fired if he doesn't start coaching up our safeties. But seriously he was brought in to be Schiano's replacement at DC who we all expected to already be gone so I don't see him leaving for another DC job.

I doubt they get Grinch. Lake would be awesome but I think his next stop is as a HC. Maybe they can convince Golding since he’s not the play caller at Bama.

I’m seeing DeRuyter’s name being tossed around a lot. Though it’s so early that none of it matters much yet

I just want an agreement to start leaking championship game weekend. Have it in place and they will have 2.5 weeks before signing day in december to lock down our class and make some calls to potentially add others.

nothing confirmed, a lot of smoke though

Stoops had known favorites over the years. Really aggravating for the fanbase, Bolton and him were always at odds, Caleb Kelly is one of his favorites. So it somewhat makes sense that they got fed up with each other

Cooks needs to go too. Kish/Cooks/Stoops, get them all out, bring in someone new to take care of secondary and linebackers. Thibs is recruiting well and I think the scheme is holding DL back as much as anything. Let them attack 1 gap again

Thibs is the only coach I’d care about staying. Lincoln isn’t going to fire Ruffin so really Kish and Cooks are the only others I wouldn’t mind seeing go. Cooks may get a little more time but Kish is almost certainly out.

There's so many rumors going around but part of me feels like Riley has already chosen the DC and told the recruits who it is.

That makes me think of Golding or Grinch despite all the chatter saying it can't be them.

Riley is proving to be a damned magician so I have no idea where to set my expectations.

That's a good point but I'm sitting back looking at how today went down and it shouldn't have happened really. I mean logically no one would blame any defensive recruit for taking a hard pass on OU's situation.

Unless Riley just has a full on cult of personality thing going on.

I knew about those three just not the potential third receiver. Going to the playoffs consistently and two different heisman winners in a row seems like a nice selling point for recruits. We just have to get the d figured out.

It was a really good day recruiting on D. We picked up a 4 star safety that has all the things that we shouldn't have landed and some good rushing DE's that are not what we can typically land. A don't know how many quality 4 stars we grabbed on D off the top of my head but more than we had any right to given the situation.

Man there's all kinds of smoke about Fields to OU but I don't want to act like Ohio State and just pretend it's true to try and magically will it to happen.

Rattler didn't enroll early either. He plans on RS'ing.

I think the main reason is because they had Henderson committed. Once he decommitted it opened the door back open.

I told my brother in law this yesterday, there's no reason not to let Rattler go into fall practice with a chance to win the job. Hell even if Kendall starts the first few games but its just not really working I say throw Rattler in there and take your lumps for a year. Go 9-3 or something and get ready for a monster year out him and the offense in 2020. I just refuse to believe its worth it to let Kendall be the QB all year next year while Rattler sits and then what, have a QB competition in 2020? I say let Rattler win the job and let Kendall transfer out after 2019 as a grad transfer. If you're asking there is a 0% chance Kyler comes back and a <0% chance Tanner fucking Mordecai is a better long term option than Rattler.

Now, if Fields really wants to come to OU that's awesome but that definitely means either him or Rattler transfers out after 2020, Fields would probably at least be a grad transfer if it was him that transfers. Probably be a good problem to have with both guys on the roster but I doubt it would make Rattler happy for him to sign and then a few weeks later OU gets Fields.

  45. M3

M3 I have a dossier on all of you

Honestly I'm not sure why anyone thought Rattler would start right away. Oklahoma hasn't started a true freshman QB since I don't know when. Jason, Bradford and Landry were all red shirts. Aikman maybe?

Given he didn't enroll early it seems safe to assume he's going to take a year to learn Riley's system. That could be redshirt or wait and see and play it by ear playing back up I guess with the new red shirt 4 game rule thing.

As far as Kendall and Mordecai I'm not 100% convinced Austin wins that battle.

Fields if he does come could be a one and done. I don't think anyone will hate if he gets an NFL grade he likes and bails. But if Rattler voluntarily red shirts then it doesnt really matter anyways. Their will be plenty of time for him.

Riley has this program really fluid right now. There's moving pieces everywhere.

I just can't wrap my head around the 2020 Lincoln Riley offense with three 5* WR's, Spencer Rattler at QB, Stogner at TE and Brooks/Pledger/McClellan in the backfield.

That will be his Sistine Chapel.

Fields has 2 more seasons before he's even eligible to go pro. I don't think OU would consider taking him if they didn't think he would for sure be eligible to play during the 2019 season so I don't see a 1 & done scenario playing out there.

    19 - Fields (True soph)

    21 - Rattler (RS So)

Its more about the talent level that would be ahead of him than him being a Heisman contender as a freshman or anything.

If you let me see into the future and told me OU went 9-3 with Kendall as QB, I'd say just let Rattler start the whole season even if that meant the record wasn't as good. Clemson has a history of starting the 5* true freshman QB when it became apparent there was more benefit to playing him and seeing how it goes than letting the less talented but more experienced guy go out there and be just ok. It pays off big time long term. That's just one mans opinion obviously.
