2 things here. 1) I have no idea what basis Fields could possibly have to be immediately eligible at OU. Maybe Georgia Tech or something with those sick parents waivers they give out but not to a school he has no connections/family at. 2) In the incredibly impossible to believe Fields gets a waiver there is a 90% chance Rattler transfers out at the end of 2019 if Fields is a baller.

Here's a good reference if you haven't read it https://www.sbnation.com/2018/12/18/18146285/qb-transfer-five-star-recruit-bust

I see what you're saying. The only thing we lose offensive weapon wise is Brown. He'll have experience all around him and a frigging wet dream of recievers to throw to.

The offensive line loses some ppl obvi but I saw someone average out the size of the O line next year with most likely starters and it comes to like 6'5" 335lbs.

You're right that you're not going to get a better time to baptize a rookie in fire.

The thought with the immediate eligibility revolves around the racist baseball player. No idea if it would work or not

Bedenbaugh is so good, he seems to always find a mixture that works regardless of the talent level of the personnel. I'm telling you guys, appreciate Bill Bedenbaugh while you can. He's going to be an OC somewhere else very very soon and a head coach before you know it. OU is going to have to pay seven figures to keep him around.

Unless his appeal is going to someone other than the NCAA I just don't see how that works. That said, they have done some weird shit in regards to letting players transfer lately so who knows.

The lawyer argument is going to be that he's uncomfortable there after the incident and that he faces social backlash from the star baseball player being kicked out of school because of it.

That's a hot button issue right now so it might get some play but who knows. The NCAA is janky with their rulings.

mordecai is legit :twocents: but no way mordecai or kendall ever start if fields comes

    scenario 1: fields comes

    2019: fields (so.)
2020: fields (jr.) - goes pro
    2021: rattler (rs jr)
2022: rattler (rs sr) unless he goes pro after 2021

    scenario 2: no fields

    2019: mordecai (rs fr)
2020: mordecai (rs so) - goes pro
    2021: rattler (rs jr)
2021: rattler (rs sr) unless he goes pro after 2021

kendall never starts and transfers after the spring when mordecai wins the job

So it's still ESPN and lot of Ohio State journalists and fans positive Fields is going there, but now OU fans are starting to go full retard too. I'm gonna LMFAO if he goes to UCF.

I'm starting to think the most important matchup in this game that will effect OU's ability to score is going to be the lines. Alabama needs to not commit too many ppl to getting pressure for obvious reasons.

I'm going to be staring at Creed and Q the whole game. Creed goes 325 and Q is 280-290. Both are violent ass hats with good technique and high grade outs. I wonder how much Creed will go 1 on 1 with him.

who said he would? rs sophomore starting (after fields) is only sitting for 2 years, one of which is a redshirt he may get next year regardless.

Depending how he looks, can work him into 4 games and save the RS for the next year.

Personally I don't think that rule really matters to a kid like him, NFL aspirations, he won't be here longer than 3-4 years.

He's the most perfect hire OU could have made. His defense at Washington State was incredible considering he was coaching it essentially against Leach's offense. He won't be intimidated coaching a defense on a team with a quick strike offense. He would have been #1 on my board if I was making one for OU.

Jadon Haselwood committed today. Make that three 5* receivers.

Also Tim Kish retired (finally). Some smoke out there that Mizzou LB coach Brian Odom is a strong candidate to replace him. Apparently he's close with Grinch.

josh said it late saturday night in the "sunday notes" thread

First, I know there is a report out there that Oklahoma is going to dismiss the entirety of the staff outside of Calvin Thibodeaux but that's not exactly what I've heard. While I agree that Thibodeaux is safe, Tim Kish, obviously, is retiring and I'm also told that Kerry Cooks and the staff are going to part ways.

However, Ruffin McNeill is still a question mark.

Just listening to Lincoln Riley's comments about McNeill and the strength of their relationship and lining that up against his comments about the keys of being an able recruiter, it's going to be a weird decision.

We'll see what happens but based on what I've heard McNeill is the guy still up in the air.

    ***

I've also heard talk that Brian Odom, a one-time Oklahoma running back as well as current Missouri linebacker coach will have the first right of refusal to become Kish's replacement as Oklahoma's linebacker coach. He and Alex Grinch worked together in Pullman, Wash. and, apparently, became close.

I've talked to some sources both in Missouri and around Oklahoma that tell me this is something that Odom definitely has interest in but that he, obviously, would have to turn his back on his brother, Barry Odom - who is not one to take such things lightly.

So does he choose the bigger program with his friend or sticking with his brother - who looks to have Mizzou on the right track?

It's an interesting question but I've got a feeling that Grinch and Odom have had more than a 'hi, how are ya' kind of chat.

As far as what might happen to replace Cooks? I'm not sure on that, Grinch has a defensive back background so that may already be answered but I kind of doubt it.

I will say n talking to a few people it sounds like Grinch has a pretty clear idea of who/what he is looking for and won't have to scour the country - sounds like, as with Odom, he has a short list and is working his way through it.

To get him to step into a similar role at OU would be incredible. We looking at $1m+?

This is going to be a loooooonnnnggggg off-season. What if, and I'm not saying it's going to happen, but what if when we play Houston we actually put hands on an opposing wideout?!?!?

We were just discussing, did we have 1 meaningful INT this season? Motley had a few that "sealed" games, but I can't remember one in crunch time that was really important...
