http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/30102009/58/spl-mccoist-old-firm-leave-scotland.html What do you guys think of this. Would have made much more sense when they were at their peak, now it almost seems like a desparate move and I doubt they would have much success, although with the additional source of capital, it could work out. I would love to see Celtic and Rangers competing once again in Europe. The state of Scottish soccer is pretty sad right now.
It will never happen. Celtic and Rangers would lose automatic European spots and it would kill Scottish football financially. Also where would they start in the English league pyramid? There would be a lot of pissed off CCC teams if they automatically got started in the Premiership.
They'd get a piece of the huge EPL TV contract, and that contract would increase a lot with the inclusion of those two teams. Celtic is mammoth, probably one of the top 5 most popular teams in the world. They're the #2 favorite team of many Catholics in the world behind their hometown team. Even if they start in the CCC, that'd increase their league competition, the SPL is bad outside of them except for maybe Hibs and Dundee (but they would be low-mid table CCC teams.
what the fuck another ucla fan? I agree Celtic is massive in Ireland the whole country practically supports them.
fuck your anal-fisting-loving mother and this. don't see it happening, especially since the only reason we're sorta almost relevant now is our past Euro history and the fact that we usually still are involved.
