Lights were a little bright for the lads that 45 - those early big diagonals worked but we became wayyyyy too reliant on them - they’re torturing Miles with this press - that LB has Paredes in hell - vibes were off. Why is Paxton trying to play balls in behind Hakimi, who has been beaten for pace like once in the past 6 seasons? BUT it’s only one goal. We should feel good about that. Plenty of room to grow into this, we’ve shown we can play through the press, just need to gain a foothold and stop giving the ball away
so many aftrican football federations should take a lesson from morocco. No corruption, just development and whats best for the players
Morocco is significantly better than us today, and maybe any day. Just a constant game on your heels chasing everywhere
Welp. This sucks. Our only chance this tourney was Tanner-Busio-Djordje dominating. Once we lost one of those tentpoles it was always going to be uphill. We still qualified and made it to the knockouts! Hopefully not a couple decades till we say that again.
It’s hard to claim development when the vast majority of their players in the Olympics/World Cup are raised in Europe.
Talent in europe plays a part but theyve got facilities, coaches and priortize youth development https://www.cafonline.com/news/moroccos-football-revolution-reaping-rewards/ Their federation is a lot smarter and more organized than most african federations
Their talent in Europe doesn’t just play a part, it plays the biggest part. They are definitely elite at recruiting their diaspora and I agree that they are smarter and more organized than most other African federations. Though I’d go with Senegal as the leader in African development in recent years.
