Watching the women’s triathlon and I’m still thinking about the men’s race. We effectively saw in real time, on what a lot of us would consider the biggest stage, someone just wanting it more than everyone else.

The level of effort and pain on his face both during and after the race was beautiful. I’m sure someone could tell us that Yee and others were trying just as hard but I don’t believe it for a second. Blummenfelt went to a place no one else would. Loved to see it.

you replied in the other thread but why is alllowed? Individuals, ok, but this is the same thing minus playing their national anthem

 

Because the olympic committee is stupid and one of the most corrupt organizations on this earth

 

its dumb. Technically Russia can’t claim the medals, but it’s them. They struck a deal with Olympic committee after the doping ban. This was the punishment. Pretty dumb really, but I’m sure money was a factor too

 

right. My question is why are they allowed to compete as a team like in this men’s gymnastics? Russian flag and anthem or not, it’s a Russian team

We had an Egyptian grad student on my college club team. That dude was awesome. Mind you, not particularly good at water polo, but awesome.
