Rafa Benitez: "I'm really positive about everything. I wanted to talk (to the board) and now I'm more open to talk." Come on Mike, get it done
Ayoze has come out claiming he's staying. Considering he signed a new deal this calendar year, I can't imagine us selling him
Soooooo it's sounding like Rafa is staying. Going to be given full control and the finances to get right back to the PL. Townsend has a 13m release clause
Mark Douglas @MsiDouglas 23s23 seconds ago Benitez will have "day to day responsibility for ALL football matters".
Won 6-0 in Ireland today in the opener of the preseason. Rafa said there should be a couple signings this week
Christmas in July if true: Lee Ryder Understand that the interest from Real Madrid in Sissoko is real but a player exchange is unlikely at this stage #nufc More to follow
Moving this weekend and completely forgot we played. What happened? I imagine Fulham is one of the better sides in the Championship? Is there a way to watch the games online? I don't think I get bein
We have no attack right now. Fulham was strong defensively, and took their best opportunity. We had a few that could have been handballs but weren't called. The games that are on TV you should be able to find a stream
If you guys are getting Galloway on loan this year, I think you're getting a gem. He filled in admirably for Baines for half of last season and that wasn't even in his natural position. I would prefer keeping him but I'm guessing he wants to start every game and that's something I can't fault him for.
I wish we were signing him permanently if we were bringing him in. We have other fullbacks, don't get bringing a young one in if he's not coming with an option to buy.
Hell, if you get promoted he might want to stay. Koeman's pretty decent at finding defenders so he might feel like he has been replaced when it's time for him to report back to Everton. Supposedly CB is his better position but he had guys ahead of him last season so we didn't get to see him there.
Ned Yocho looks like you guys are getting Yedlin. Will he get a lot of opportunities to feature for you? Also I have to ask cus I've seen some hilarious things posted by Newcastle fans online. You tired of Shelvey yet?
Match is on Sky so there's streams out there Lascelles had a beautiful header off a Matt Ritchie set piece, up 1-0 on Brighton
Lots of movement this summer. Pretty happy with the moves overall. I assume Rafa will have money to spend in January if he wants. Norwich game was crazy as hell. Can't wait to get back to the Premiere League though for the TV coverage.
I love that his heart seems to make such a critical part of decisions. There's stories that the fans singing for him for 90 minutes on the final day last year convinced him to stay, assuming Ashley gave him the assurances he requested. That's the biggest part of him staying, for me. Ashely relenting control of the club and it's operation to Rafa. Looking forward to see what we do in January in terms of squad. They said in August/September there would be more spending in January. The team is obviously doing well, so it'll be interesting. I'd be ok waiting til next summer, under the assumption this continues and we bounce right back.
I'm glad your fans appreciate him because he's a hell of a manager that's been underappreciated by several clubs' fans. Rafa loves to cycle through players and is usually able to do it without spending a lot of money so I imagine you will make some in January. He has a keen eye for talent.
The double deal for Lascelles and Darlow may be the best thing Newcastle had done in the last 5 years
