Oh somebody wants the (mascot) smoke
Rest in poop
Rest in feces was right there and you went with poop
It’s alliteration not rhyme scheme Sean.
Coin toss at the 1958 Rose Bowl, in which an Ohio State victory over the Oregon Webfoots led to a 1957 national title.
The Google machine tells me that Oregon changed its mascot to Ducks in 1978, after the school fully embraced stealing intellectual property and trademark rights from Disney.
look, Brutus is cool and all. But the duck is the best. You can have it, no smoke please.
Unless you want to bring live mascots into play. Smokey will whoop that ass
Quit making shit up herb
There are two mascots I will accept as being on the same level as ours:
Team Stanford Tree
Oregon has a license agreement with Disney now.
Much better than the old nickname/logo Stanford Indians, which devolved into a Chief Wahoo caricature before they changed it.
Oregon had a handshake deal with Disney dating back to 1947 that let them use Donald Duck's likeness. In 2010 the agreement changed and the mascot officially became "The Duck"
They clearly stole it and no one from Oregon can be trusted.
OSU -14.5 would be tempting if I didn't have a loose code of never betting on games my favorite teams are in
I made a series of really bad bets on Ohio State when I was a student, basically subjectively hoping Ohio State would cover every game. that culminated in a 41-6 victory over Illinois in 1997.
I bet on Ohio State at a ridiculous 38.5 points. I was about to win at 41-0, but on the last play of the game an Ohio State walk on QB fumbled the snap and Illinois returned it for TD.
I blamed myself and never bet on Ohio State again.
I make a series of really bad bets weekly.
So do I, but not on Ohio State.
Im taking Rutgers -2.5 this week at Syracuse. My head says no, but my heart says Chop!
Why didn't Franklin play last week?
Fun fact my high school sophomore basketball coach was Rex Kern, who I believe was the OSU QB for that rose bowl…
Kern was 1968-1970. He won a national title as a soph beating OJ Simpson’s USC in the Rose.
Beating the Trojans instead of the Webfeet is even better. Was a great coach and an awesome guy.
Everyone in our program who knew him says the same.
Herb is older than Rex Kern iydk
Herb scanned those programs personally. He didn’t get them from google.
We have fun here.
The Graduate Hotel is very nice, however I feel like this is mental warfare ahead of the game tomorrow with all the Ohio State memorabilia.
The hot chicken at North Market is v good
I think OSU is going to win this one easily. I'm hoping it's a close game though. I haven't been keeping up but is Thibodeaux playing? I really want to see him in primetime vs a top 5 team. Also I knew Sewell did was a beast last year but how is Justin Flowe coming along? I know he was injured last year but curious if he has been showing star status in spring and fall camp #Oregon Ducks
Justin Flowe is hurt, brain aneurysm. Has to retire.
Double mac. Try the banana pudding?
The ducks suck. Ohio state by a lot. Thank you!!
? What question are you answering here exactly?
we don't know on KT; sounds like he'll test it pregame but many think it's unlikely because why play hurt when you're going to lose anyways?
flowe missed all of last year (abbreviated season) with a torn meniscus and was limited throughout the offseason. he played Saturday (starting Sr LB got hurt early) and had 14 tackles and was POW. unfortunately, there are rumors he was hurt at the end of the game (some sort of foot injury) and he may be either out or limited vs ohio state/the rest of the year. he's a freshman LB who is fast and hits hard but probably shit in coverage.
Damn that sucks. Hope Flowe doesn't struggle with injuries for his career. His film is some of the best I've ever watched and reminded me of Reuben Foster
No but I wanted to.
I’ll be watching this on my phone from my kids soccer game best of luck to all participants
hmm what's the line?
funny you should ask. a couple of us douchy dads come up with lines before the games sometimes. We’re playing the second best team in SoCal, so it’s probably something like +2.5 :/
I just saw Quinn Ewers mullet and it is better than advertised my god
BuckeyeRiot tried to go there and eat it one day, but he's a big dumb dumb that doesn't know how to read calendars and went on a day of the week they weren't open
I’m going slit your throat, pull out your tongue, and shit in your mouth.
Big Noon Kickoffs are great. It gives you so much time to watch baseball on Fox in prime time.
only good thing about fox as far as I can tell
Lets do it on a day that Hot Chicken Takeover is actually open...someone can teach you the days of the week...at least then the shit will contain it.
Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt are awesome, but noon kickoffs suck balls.
