So what about Jon being vulnerable to fire? His hand got burned. Fire cannot hurt a dragon, right? I believe in R+L=J, but I've always been a little bothered by his susceptibility to flame. I know he isnt 100% targ, but he is still thought to be a head of the dragon.
But that's not to say others didn't know she was preggers with someone other than his wife's baby. It was well known he fancied Lyanna. The promise solidifies the fact that the baby was saved and safe in Winterfell, but it's not to say others whose allegiance is still to the Targ's could not have made the inference and stayed quiet. (ie Varys or Illyro)
Targs aren't immune to fire. GRRM has stated himself that what happened with Daenerys was more of a mythical, one-time thing than an ability inherit to all Targs. Even if they did have some small immunity to fire, R+L=J dictates he is only half Targ.
Top of the head here: We all assume if Aegon is really a Targ that he's Rhaegars kid through Elyia (sorry can't remember spellings) of Dorne. Is it possible that Lyannas promise from Ned was to take the boy to safety elsewhere? Could he have helped Varys send the boy to Pentos and Aegon actually is dead but they couldn't tell him he is a bastard because it would be less likely for them to gain alliances if the Lords knew he was a Targ/Stark bastard? Maybe Jon really just is Ned's bastard son
I will say with 100% certainty that Jon Snow is not just some bastard kid of Ned's. It may not be R+L=J, but it's something. Ok, 99% certainty, but you get what I'm saying.
No. Jon's mom can't be just anyone. That would undervalue the whole "who is my mom thing" that has been going on for 5 books. Just no. For the record this post is much more of a wish and hope than actual fact.
I'm sure someone has said his before, but I just found this on he reread.. Jonny Snow has to be Lyanna's kid. At the beginning of the book, Arya and Jon are said to only look like one another. And Eddard later says that Arya looks just like Lyanna
