I stayed at the Hilton at Bonnett Creek for work earlier this spring. I'm thinking I may go to the attached Waldorf Astoria and play its course. It looked pretty sweet and is pretty reasonable.
I would stay downtown and enjoy the weekend but if you want to golf do one of the resorts far out there.
Do it. Played that course a few months ago and going again next Monday. I played isleworth and interlachen in the last couple months. What other nice courses should I try to get on?
Yeah stay at the Grand Bo, Aloft, or Embassy Suites. You can go out to golf for a day but being downtown and walking to everything is so much better.
My body is ready Days before Universal Orlando unveils its latest attraction, Skull Island: Reign of Kong, the theme park giant offered a sneak peek into its latest project, the water theme park Volcano Bay. It's set to open in 2017. Volcano Bay takes over Wet 'n' Wild, which is owned by Universal Orlando Resort, and will feature: • Krakatau, the centerpiece of Volcano Bay, a 200-foot-tall fire and water volcano with waterfalls during the day and special lava effects at night. Krakatau will have waterslides inside the volcano, a news release states. • Ko'okiri Body Plunge, a 125-foot-long waterslide ride that starts with a 70-degree fall through a drop door • Kala and Ta Nui Serpentine Body Slides FLORIDA TODAY Wet 'n Wild Orlando will close Dec. 2016 • Wave Village and Waturi Beach, where guests can lounge • Kopiko Wai Winding River • Rainforest Village with drop slides, raft rides and more waterslides Skull Island, located off of Jurassic Park at Universal Studios, features a three-story temple, 40-foot-long ride vehicle and King Kong sculptures. Some of the sculptures and rock formation take after Peter Jackson's film, but the story is its own, Mike West, executive producer at Universal Creative, told FLORIDA TODAY earlier this year. Universal's previous King Kong attraction, Kongfrontation, was set in a New York subway station. That opened in 1990 and closed in 2002, later replaced by the Revenge of the Mummy ride. Founded in 1977, Wet 'n' Wild is considered to be one of America's first major water parks. The Central Florida theme park first announced it would close in June 2015. It will permanently close Dec. 31, 2016. Volcano Bay currently is being constructed on 53 acres near the theme park's Cabana Bay Beach Resort. Universal Orlando Resort also is home to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.
hey fellas, headed your way in a few weeks staying in Orlando for 5 days. What is the best beach to take my family to if we take a day trip that is reasonably close?
I live in viera (just south of cocoa). There are several spots along a1a by Patrick Air Force base that you can go to that don't get to crowded. Cocoa beach is too crowded for me. If you want the beach town feel then New Smyrna is great spot. If you want to enjoy the beach with not a lot of people then go to where I said.
Great beach, you can drive on it which is oh so convenient, Flagler Avenue is cool and there are plenty of great places to eat in town.
Hey, neat. Bruce Feldman @BruceFeldmanCFB 26s26 seconds ago The ACC championship game, which was pulled out of NC, has officially been moved to Orlando & Camping World Stadium.
glad you were able to get back home before it hit man. We are getting our first severe feeder band now, higher winds and more lightning than we have seen yet. I've got the pool draining, but I don't think its going to be able to keep up.
Yes sir got in last night. Last spot on the last flight in. Nothing really to exciting happening over here
it's coming. I forget exactly where you are, but none of us are going to escape it. I'm fully anticipating a wobble that puts us in the hurricane force wind circle.
We lost power for 5 days in Oviedo after Charlie, absolutely miserable. I'm hoping it is much less with this one, but I'm not expecting it.
yeah almost no lightning in Lake Mary, lots of wind but it never got to hurricane force. Not as much tree debris as I expected. Very lucky, this one scared me but it staying farther east was the game changer.
Yeah so how does this curfew work? Will anything open today at all? I'm in Winter Park and it's not bad at all.
yeah i figured that, i added that too, looks like they will reassess this afternoon. I wish Seminole would drop their's, its keeping me from picking up my son.
yes, orange & seminole were last night at 10pm until saturday at 7am orange county will be lifted at 2pm, no word on seminole county
for those going to the Theme park area and need a cheap but nice hotel, have found that the Melia is very nice and a short drive from both Disney and Universal
-Rebel Alliance - The Empire - House Stark - House Baratheon - House Targaryen - House Lannister edit, yes I know some of these are blurry, but Imgur is being slow as fuck and wont load so I can re-do them
