Mix I have to go to Orlando next week for a conference. Staying near I-drive but will have a car. Any dinner recommendations? Price doesn't really matter but won't be wearing a coat/tie.
If price doesn't matter and you want something relatively close to I-Drive...Eddie V's http://www.eddiev.com/locations/fl/orlando/orlando/8513
Out in that area I'd do Tapa Toro, Slate, Chatham's Place, or Urbain 40. You can google Restaurant Row and that should help you find things in your area that are good.
Sup w that new water park? Sup w that willy wonka restaurant? And is Universal worth a trip over these days?
I only go to Universal and Disney when I forget why I don't go to Universal and Disney. Ten minutes in...it all comes flooding back.
new water park not open yet. Chocolate factory willy wonka looking thing is pretty cool, good food, cool atmosphere.
Related...any of you guys Lake Nona guys? Thats where my new office will be and I know it has good schools so it's probably the obvious place to move for us
Go to that area a good bit for work. If we stayed in the Orlando area instead of moving to the coast, we would be there.
It has gotten a lot better. I would hate living there as a single guy but with a family might be good. Chroma is delicious.
Any other areas you can think of convenient to there that good for families? Maybe thinking of broadening my house search although being in nona is probably the goal.
417 runs into the medical city/nona area, so anywhere along that corridor might not be a bad place to look at.
417 still a toll road though right? Might just be a bit annoying to pay tolls everyday depending how far north
I live in Lake Mary and i'm on 417 most every day, it is annoying as fuck paying tolls for a road that can be as bad as I4 some days. I commute to Polk County every day, it sucks, but its worth it for the job and living in Lake Mary. Not sure how much it costs to live in Lake Nona, you can still get into Lake mary for around $270K for a 2000 sf house. Depends on if you are up for that commute.
Every time I feel like I'm getting annoyed about paying tolls, I realized that I'm doing it instead of having to go through the mess that is i4, especially in its current form with the construction.
Hunters Creek may be an option for you. The Loop area has everything you need and is closer to all the stuff little kids like (Disney, Sea World, etc).
oh yeah, i'm almost always glad to be on 417 instead of i4. But i've been driving on 417 since 1997 so it pisses me off to see what a nightmare it is now, relatively speaking.
I live in Sanford and drive 417 everyday. Up to about 1 year ago, it was smooth sailing. I drive to Curry Ford and back. My drive was about 30 min before, now it is up to an hour. Sucks but way better than I4.
Sub-Zero I'd live near your work. With as much as Nona will continue to be developed, your commute today will probably double within 5 years. That's a lot of wasted time on the road
as someone who does it every day, i agree with this statement, live closer to work if you can. The difference between Lake Nona and Seminole County is close enough to make the added drive not worth it.
thats a very good point i didnt think of. Ideally I want to be in Nona....it's just a bit of an availability standpoint too with the number of houses. We are moving with a newborn, dog, and cat. So short term rental in an apartment....and then having to move again in 6mo-1 year isnt really an option in my mind. Especially since I am paying for the relocation.
ya im not sure how they thought the way they built the 408 east onto 417 south interchange was gonna go luckily they are widening it now
If you like playing tennis Lake Nona is a must. It isn't too expensive to join the new USTA and play on the best courts around.
Don't start until March but whatever perks I can share I'll try. You can probably play for free if I'm on the other side. Lol
Driving up there tomorrow for the next 3 days. Where's the nearest pop parlour to either I drive or fashion square And which one is Mix gonna be at
I am in your town to watch Xavier beat Maryland. Staying at the Residence Inn on Orange Ave. Where should we go to watch games today and where should we go pre and post game tomorrow? Mix Sub-Zero @anyone else
