3000 on that new frank ocean
I keep holding out hope for a new album, but with every year that passes it seems more and more unlikely.
Big Boi is putting out a new solo album this year, so we got that going for us.
Andre has one too
This song is a banger
I imagine this song being played in club pulse right before the shooter lost it.
I'm as Outkast as you or anyone but that's not what I love about kast
I disagree. It reminds me of Lines mixed with For Your Sorrows. Big Boi's verses are awesome and Levine's hook is better than some of the people Big brought in for VLDR and SLLF (this is not in reference to Sarah Barthel; she's an angel).
Prefer Kill Jill but still good.
I listened to it like 3 more times because I trust Clown Baby taste in tunes. It's cringey to me but to each their own
I like Kill Jill as well. Chorus is a little slower than I would like but the bridge is badass and all the verses are great
That's fair and I appreciate it. Maybe I'm just starved for good rap, but I just like it. It's upbeat and it's one of my favorite rappers ever.
I'm sure you've listened to DAMN?
that song is dope iyam
I have not. I like Kendrick Lamar but I've been on more of an indie kick lately mixed with randomly with Born to Run
You should give it a go, it's fantastic.
He also very much gives me a 3k vibe quite often
They're both great songs with very different vibes. I love Big Boi's lyrics and rhythm in Kill Jill but the 30 second intro into it does nothing for me. Atlanta allstars are always great. That being said Mic Jack flows very well and its hard to hate on Adam Levine's VoiceSound
Edited to sound like I know what I'm talking about
New Big out today
I've definitely told people to marinate on that for a minute more than a few times before
and its really good
Rare André interview:
This bit killed me: “My agent Todd was like, “What brands are you into?” And I was like, “Well, honestly, all my life I’ve wanted to do a fabric-softener or dryer-sheets commercial.” [laughs] Really. I don’t know if it’s because my mom used that stuff, but my clothes have to smell like that.
Spaghetti Junction might be their most underrated song. West Savannah, DEEP, and Red Velvet are up there too.
I really thought Slimm Calhoun's career would take off more. He had a good solo album and he was great on Gangsta Shit
Yeah he was dope
Always had high hopes for cool breeze after these
But he never panned out
Slump is also big time underrated
I was actually describing the Watch for the Hook video to someone last weekend
Despite being a freshman at UGA, I went to that release show at the tabernacle. Was crazy.
“and yes i will be present on the first day of school and graduation”
Bamboo and Cross rapping is quite possibly the best thing ever.
Seeing big boi in a week.
I can't imagine many performances being as important to me as seeing Outkast with my brother. Shit was legendary .
saw them in 02 on the smokin’ grooves tour with the roots and j5
great fucking show
OutKast is everlastin’
Andre 3000 put out a couple songs today
I have a feeling I’m about to go on an OutKast run here for a bit. It’s been a while.
I’m old and pulled my back a bit earlier this week and couldn’t get The Rooster out of my head for like 4 days.
That translated to me running the entire catalogue tonight. I’d forgotten how amazing Speakerboxxx is.
Us cookie cutter white kids that were lucky enough to have been born in the early 80s, to have been turned on to OutKast in our early teens and kind of follow their albums and progression as we simultaneously grew older, what a blessing. Must have been what it felt like to discover Stevie Wonder accidentally in 1969.
Aquemini still the best though.
This post is also relevant to the perfect albums thread.
Doesn’t get much better than Synthesizer.
This is about to become a shit posting stream of consciousness thread
