I can imagine so many different heroes being viable at a higher comp. I'm in gold and the craziest I get is defensive tjorborn or Zenyatta.

A guy named Abyssa. I played with him, Paul, and max until i got to gm in season 3. I don't even think he plays Ana anymore. That was in a the total mayhem gamemode where everything is doubled except cool downs, which are halved.
Yeah he's already up a few hundred. He was going up like 50 a match. Sea of thieves was ok. I think it's as good as your crew makes it. Mine was kind of boring. Avoiding battles and just trying to amass a huge amount of worthless gold.
I'll look to see if you're on next time. I like avoiding fights if I have a shit ton of gold's worth in treasure chests, but if I've already turned it in and have nothing of value I prefer raiding the enemy ship to sea battles. Fwiw, the gold will carry over to the beta and ultimately the game per what I've read/heard.
You've hyped up sea of thieves to me so much that I don't think I'll be able to enjoy it if it isn't the best game ever.
Fuck. Yeah. I'm definitely over-selling it in that capacity. I just think it's a lot of fun. At the end of the day you'll like shooters better because the hand-to-hand/gun-to gun-combat is really clunky. Sea battles are good, but not really action heavy after the ships pass eachother. I think you might need more of a purpose overall. Right now the only purpose is retrieving lost treasure, defending it, and ultimately turning it in before someone can raid and steal it. That, or just go hunting for other ships in which case the game didn't give you that task at all.
it has a no man's sky feel to it really. lot of interesting concepts but i'm not sure there's enough to do. i still enjoyed no man's sky
My experience was that it was pretty fun, I guess. Not a lot of stuff to do at the moment and they are pretty secretive about what else is being added. They need to do much much more and I believe they will but the stuff we're testing right now is basic bitch level gaming. They have a solid core gameplay though so as long as they deliver on content it'll be a good slow paced multiplayer game.
I don't think it'll be like that at all.... The world isn't nearly as big, and there are plenty of interactions with other ships.
It's just who even knows at this point. It might have a ton of ship and character upgrades it might have compelling PvE it might do great open world events. Who really knows.

Gold is such an awful rank to play in, but it should be easy to carry games if you're a diamond level player. Go hog or dps and keep getting picks. You'll move up.
And Im moving up, I'm just having no fun in the meantime. Losses are always so preventable and wins are so stressful. There's always a stroke building up in my neck and visions of my PlayStation flying out my window dominates my night
