my friend who likes those games also enjoys the Company of Heroes games. i've played the first one and it's one of the best games i've ever played, but maybe a bit dated now. haven't played the second.
For anyone wanting to get This War of Mine, its on sale at Green Man Gaming for $6.00, with the code 20OFF you get it for $4.80. I bought it yesterday but haven't tried it out yet... https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/this-war-of-mine/#b
CoH is really great, I don't think it looks or plays dated right now, I just got it about 6 months ago and have enjoyed the levels I've played so far. and i've just scratched the surface on Total War Shogun 2 but it is excellent so far.
I used to so much. What's your rank? I used to be supreme. Been playing a form of CS for over 15 years now. So good.
been playing a little on ESEA, not worth a shit anymore after not playing much recent months, think highest i got was LEM or step above.
Yeah I went on a CS:GO kick a couple months back. Probably going to play overwatch the most once it gets out next week though. Heard their competitive rankings were dumb though so if they don't fix that it might get boring quick.
i basically just started playing casual, so i'm just a private at the moment, but i'll be attempting to make a run this weekend. i remember playing the original counterstrike as a kid, so it has been fun playing so far. a lot of my time has been devoted to playing against bots and getting the main guns down.
Hit me up on steam (fsck, save avatar) and I'd be down to play. I haven't done match making but used to play FPSs back in the day pretty competitively. Given that you guys are up at 7:00am though, I'm guessing you're east coast and we wouldn't have much overlap on week days.
The Stanley Parable... on sale for $2.99, normally I would say anything is worth $2.99, but its supposedly only 15 minutes long. Guess it warrants multiple play throughs, but i was hoping to get the opinion of someone who had played it. Play or pass?
It can be 15 minutes long. Just depends on how you approach the game. If you take your time and don't follow directions, the game is 100x more enjoyable and hilarious. Worth $3 just for the concept imo, but yeah you can watch the game online too so there is that (I did this with Firewatch)
Thanks for the rec on Stanley. i did the same with Firewatch too, have done that with several games. Youtube is the only "streaming" thing that isn't blocked at work, so I end up listening and watching while I work.
If you don't enjoy at least one of the endings for the Stanley Parable I will be stunned. Just make sure you try to go everywhere, and read the achievements it sets up a lot of the different paths.
Homeworld Remastered Collection onsale for 50% ($17.49), will be picking it up tonight when I get home.
Has anyone picked up Total War: Warhammer yet? Looks awesome. I've never played any of the Total War series, so may grab it.
Separately, have you guys ever had to choose between getting a game on XBox One/PS4 versus your PC? I love the superior graphics on my PC, but my PC is in my bedroom at a desk, and sometimes I like being able to play XBox from the couch (since I sit at a desk all day). If it's not a game where the PC controls are definitively better (Civ 5, strategy games, etc) I usually opt for XBox.
So, to answer my own question, I just linked my TV into my PC through the wall and am now able to run games in 4K and play from my couch. It's been amazing so far - never buying another console game again.
do you just use a wireless mouse/keyboard combo for that? sounds like something i'll be doing very soon.
I had to buy an additional keyboard mouse combo because it was too annoying to take the peripherals from the bedroom to the living room. I have two sets now, but whatever.
the french army is going to be DLC for battlefield 1 you will have to pay extra to get the french army in a world war 1 game
ok boys, what are y'all buying on the sale? I'm finally buying Undertale, Portal 2 (never played it, don't judge me), Kentucky Route Zero. Probably many others. Considering getting Kerbal Space Program, Deus Ex Human Revolution. What else should I be playing?
Somebody please let me know if The Witness goes on sale at any point during this sale. (For under 20-25 dollars)
from what i've read, all the sale are upfront this time, no flash sales or revolving sales. Not sure if that for sure means there are no additional sales, but that was the impression I got.
What you see now is the sale Steam killed flash sales and deals of the day when they introduced the refund system
I'm still playing through Dishonored on PS3 but it is a very well done title. Brothers was a great little game, lots of feels.
My current list is as follows - Child of Light Deus Ex - Human Revolution Company of Heroes - Opposing Fronts Her Story Portal 2 Supreme Commander & Supreme Commander:Forged Alliance (old school RTS fix) Undertale Vanishing of Ethan Carter Really want to buy KSP and Witcher 3 but I can't go too crazy. Still pondering.
so far i've gotten witcher III (so fucking excited) left 4 dead 2 civ v looking for some more stuff to get, and likely never play
I rediscovered Civ 5 a while ago. Probably the most addicting game I've played. "Just one more turn" Shit is like crack.
Here are my purchases from the Steam store: - XCOM 2 - Cities: Skylines - Witcher I/II - Dishonored Deluxe Edition - Mass Effect I/II Really stoked about XCOM 2 and the Mass Effect franchise. Never played ME before and heard great things about the story and writing.
