Finally got back on the bike for 15 min after the ankle pain - felt good, pushed harder than intended b/c I'm stupid. No pain, even when turning 300 output...or out of the saddle. Kept resistance below 56 in saddle. Mixing up an ice an' ibuprofin cocktail now. Still having my ortho take a look at it. Would've missed this badge if I forgot to ride today. Good to be back on the bike, though will probably rest it tomorrow.
300 watts was peak sustained output briefly during ride just to test it out. Finished in 180ish range total output, I think.
Guys...! I'm really conflicted right now and thought this is the best place to ask my question. I have $2500 saved up to get my home gym running but I'm conflicted if I should by a Peloton or one of these alternatives https://bodhealthiness.com/exercise-bikes/best-peloton-bike-alternatives/. Or should I just get zwift setup? I already own a bike which is why I'm wondering about Zwift. I'm really torn between the options cause honestly spending 2k on the one piece of equipment seems like a lot even though the workout content is amazing I could just get the peloton app on my tablet or something. So which would you choose? Help!
If you already have a bike, getting Zwift set up alongside a smart trainer like Wahoo seems the best way to go. Also, thank you 29 year old female Tiffany with 1 post on the Mainboard. We feel so honored that you would seek out the world’s premier Peloton forum to look for advice.
I ended up going to my local peloton showroom for a test ride and I think I MIGHT just get it instead purely for the aesthetics of the bike vs how the zwift will look. Plus I was offered two months to use the app without paying.
For my first ride I did a 30 minute ride last night to see what it be like and wasn’t bad. I smoked a bunch of old people
The graphics is terrible and the entire setup with a trainer and a TV doesn't look as sleek as a peloton. Which BTW I just ordered last night, can't wait!
Read peloton started a countersuit against the people suing them. Was a couple weeks back so I don’t remember the particulars. It just didn’t seem like they were ready to settle anything quickly
Interesting. Did they bring back good music during this period or will the music be whatever neutered version it is now for the foreseeable future?
Has anyone ridden in Studio? Going to NY next week and I am thinking I want to do a live in studio class. Does my monthly membership cover in studio classes or do I have to pay a separate fee?
From Reddit, but a year ago: Here was my email exchange, maybe it will give you some good info: I’m looking at traveling to NYC and staying in the Times Square area in mid-April. I’d enjoy taking a few classes in studio while there, likely Th, Fr, Sat mornings. As I’m traveling from out of state, I won’t need a 5 or 10 pack. Is there any good way to buy the three classes only? Also, how soon do I need to sign up for classes to ensure there is room? Finally, do you provide any of the necessary equipment in Studio, or best to bring everything I normally ride with? Thank you in advance!! Reply: Welcome to the NYC studio! We are looking forward to having you join us here. In order to book a class, you will need to create an account at studio.pelotoncycle.com. After creating an account, you will have the option to buy classes. We currently offer a discounted first class at $20, which down from the normal $32. We do not have packages of 3 available (only 5 or more) so I would suggest buying the $20 first class and then two $32 classes. We also have Walk-In Free classes that are listed on our site, but can only be booked day of. They are the same time every week and are indeed free! Once you have an account and purchase ride credits, you can pick your class and seat. Classes are available for booking one week in advance to the day at 12pm EST. We provide all of the equipment, including cycling shoes, you would need free of charge. Please feel free to respond with any further questions you might have. You can also reach us at: 646-277-4497. Have a wonderful day! Best, Lauren Team Peloton
Just finished putting together the faux peloton bike my wife ordered. Looking forward to doing some of the Peloton classes with you boys
No shit? Is it over the thing about her supposedly fat shaming “BMIWayOver50?” It was all over the Facebook page. I listened to it and think she was talking about another rider.
She gave a shout out to a rider named BMIWayOver50, then mentioned another rider quickly and muttered “she’s not even pedaling” or something like that. It looked and sounded bad because she said it under her breath, but it sounded obvious to me it wasn’t a fat shame.
Started to read about it on Reddit and I guess I understand why Peloton would get upset and why she’d leave. What I mean by that is that there are way too many people that are way too sensitive. My user name “beer stole my 6 pack” and I remember her making a joke about it something like “well you can’t lie” or “good to acknowledge the truth” . I didn’t think anything because I used that name to draw attention to myself. I can’t imagine anyone using a username to draw attention to themselves being a fat ass not peddling and getting ass tickled that it’s brought up.
Yeah and it is fucking reddit. I'm not surprised she is leaving and she seemed pretty distant from the other instructors recently. I can see this being a situation where it was the final straw with her because she hasn't been in any of the promotional videos and taken a back seat to a lot of other instructors. Plus, she really hasn't done much to modify her approach.
So Peloton most likely made her leave by being forced out or fired so they can avoid a blowback if this happens again because media will go back to this incident. Right or wrong Peloton probably forced her out for best intentions of its company and future.
Yeah, to each their own, but JJ rides are probably 70% of my PRs since I started Peloton. No BS, no self help book in spin form- just tough, well done rides IMO. Nothing wrong with that.
That's why I like Wilpers too. Just get on the bike and do your thing. Was reading on Reddit. Sounded like her leaving might have had something to do with her kids being in France.
I don't need to hear " You're awesome for being here," "you're a queen" or "you're a rockstar" every 10 minutes. Plus JJ had some good rock and 80s playlists.
I’m on week 3 of mastering the basics course. I was on the fence trying classes I know wouldn’t be challenging enough but it’s been fun nevertheless. Has anybody else taken any courses?
do you get more badges the more homecoming rides you do? not that i care about badges but it turns out i do.
You can a badge for each type not per class. So you can get a running one a cycling one a yoga one just not for each class in those categories that is a homecoming class. Hope that makes sense.
