Working out 6 days a week makes just laying in bed all day Sunday so much sweeter. Right calf is dead. rest and maybe the massage gun and I’ll be good.
ok got more info from my mom. Apparently his nicer bike had a frame issue right when the pandemic started he couldn’t get fixed so he had to go find something cheap and available and has been using this I saw “21 speed” but I couldn’t be less knowledgeable about this. Would this bike work? I’m hoping once he splurges and gets his insanely expensive new bike this one could just sit in the trainer. Appreciate all the help.
so that only has 7 gears in the rear cassette, the trainer comes with 11 on the rear hub. I would reach out to Wahoo customer support to see if it will work. The good news is that if it does not, Wahoo makes the Snap. It works off of all the bikes components. It just adds resistance to the rear wheel of the bike. Not as dialed in as the kicker as far as real road performance but it still delivers a very road like ride along with Zwift & Trainer Road apps. https://www.wahoofitness.com/device...Sl-04gTsXbSb0o7DEdpepg7WItFekkRRoCdzEQAvD_BwE
I mean yeah. Sometimes I need to realize how truly blessed I am but that doesn’t mean I can’t cry my tears.
The important thing is did it log your 25 miles as 4 different rides or only 3? (Warm-up, workout, cool-down, some other bullshit you work in as a ride)
To go back to the pre-workout discussion from last week, I took a Nespresso double shot about 15 minutes before my ride yesterday and set a PR on a 20-min ride by 11 kJ even though I hadn't been close to my PRs for a good two months since the holidays and moving. Probably don't need C4 if that works like that but also don't want to be addicted to caffeine more than I already am.
Have any of y’all done a power zone program on Peloton or otherwise? I’d like to get a little more structured in my training and I’m looking for some recommendations.
i think I did the power zone one. Like most things once I start something I have to finish it but I like variety so it was tough having to stay structured. If that makes sense. It will probably help you get gains more than just randomly doing rides.
So cool thing about Stacking. My wife made a stack from the bike with biking and a strength class. Did the cycling. Then switched to iPad and it had the next class ready to go.
i didn’t know this. I tend to do strength before cardio do you know if you can start on an iPad and go to bike?
I don't know why not if it's on your profile. But she was able to see the stack she saved when she switched over. Maybe an extra button press but the class was definitely saved
Stack can also be made online. I typically make my stack the night before on my computer so that way when I get up to workout in the morning I already have everything set up.
I don’t know what Tony Wonder is working through but I’m on track for 250-275 miles this month and I think I’ll still finish 200 miles behind him.
Ha! I’ve been eating cleaner than ever before and cut out a ton of alcohol since Christmas. Down 13 pounds this month. I try to ride everyday. I have taken a few days off. Weekends I like to do the 90 minute endurance rides with Matt.
Roommate got one of these recently so I went ahead and signed up. 2 weeks down and I've already started narrowing down the instructors I prefer vs ones I hate.
Most of my rides are power zone. I like the structure and knowing what I need to execute to, helps keep me locked in. I started with the discover the power zone program and it’s a very achievable entry point. Also you need to post your zones here once you take the FTP so I can feel either better about my current level of fitness or more motivated. Really no downside.
I rode today and noticed you’re 250 miles ahead of me. It’s a wrap you won this year. I can’t imagine doing much more than what I did this month. I realized my body type doesn’t allow me to get much lower than what I am. I’ve incorporated more strength training again and I think I look wicked sexy now.
talk about stream of consciousness post. If it wasn’t me who wrote this I’d have no idea how I got from one point to the other.
I may have missed the discussion; am I the only Christine fan ITT? I can take or leave her commentary, but I love that she does new wave rides.
I despise her. I don’t know why, but she bothers me a lot. To each their own. I didn’t like Cody that much at first but he has grown on me.
That's incredible. I got my gold medal this month and that's all I need. I did that ride this morning and the ride was good but I wasnt a fan of most of the music. Did learn smashing pumpkins has a new album that I might check out.
Had back to back best outputs for my 30min rides last Friday then again last night. Felt good after taking a couple days off last week. Friday I did that 30 minute Post Malone ride with Ally Love, it wasn’t bad, only have done a couple of her rides. Also had my 75th ride yesterday, after getting the bike November 2nd.
Getting old sucks. Did two 45 minute rides in a row and now my calf and knee are killing me. Peloton needs to invent a time machine.
take advantage of the rest of the membership. There is a bunch of great content on there you can do before your bike arrives. I know it’s not the same but it will be something. Get some dumbbells and/or resistance bands for strength and maybe do some guided runs.
lol I was going to say, I’m low 30s and after a month of having the bike I went overboard and did a 45min ride, then a 60min the next day and my knee was all jacked up until I finally took a couple days off and did stretching classes instead. Been sticking to mostly 30 minute rides, then mix in 15-20 min rides on my light days. Need to brave a 45 again soon though. I’m not close to skinny, but I hit my lowest weight since mid-2019 and have been mixing in weights, so hopefully that helps on the bike at least in the sense I’ll be moving around less weight.
The power zone endurance rides are very are nice. Not high cadence or out of the saddle climbs. Just a constant smooth line. That may help. Also I saw you did the Red Hot Chili Peppers ride. I did it after seeing you completed it, I total missed that ride and really enjoyed it.
RHCP ride is one of my favorites. Great playlist difficult in a good way. Emma looks amazing in it. Just a great ride. The Coldplay one is also great when you need a mental health ride that isn’t one
I fight the same urge, but by backing off a little on the intensity I’ve been able to spend more hours in the saddle without feeling like I’m on the verge of injury. This is germane to the current discussion: TLDW; Top endurance athletes don’t go balls to the wall all that often. About 80% of their training is relatively easy.
