Knocked out 4 short rides today and a little sweat. Ride 100 in the morning with Wilpers. 60min at 7:30am is a good challenge.
Anyone else having issues seeing new classes on desktop or the app? All the new classes that have been posted say they were from Saturday but the list also hasn’t changed since then either
Been lifting at the gym for the last 6 months. Came back to the bike yesterday and did a nice 200kj/20min ride. Felt great. I think i'll be incorporating more of the bike and participating in the thread.
Never done any of these but I’m certainly open to trying. I’m interested in the short yoga classes too, those seem much more my length instead of a 30+ minute one
Off the bike classes are where it is at. I hit a wall eventually on the bike and coincided with more offerings off the bike and it has improved my performance quite a bit. Seems like they are going for the bike model of having a shit ton of instructors. Not sure how I feel about that.
Saturday 7:30 am 60 min powerzone with Wilpers might be my new favorite thing. Even after a night out with some drinks I feel great now.
Haven’t rode the bike for 3 days, getting back on tomorrow but pretty sure this was my longest layoff since I got the bike in November. Friday was a planned day off, Saturday my knee hurt/felt weird all day, then today I did a bunch of yard work.
I know I’ve mentioned it before but here it goes again. I can’t recommend I massage gun enough. I think I’ve done over 40 miles the last two days. I felt like crap yesterday after ride. Legs were dead. 10 minutes with the gun and I felt better. If you don’t have one get one ASAP. Complete game changer.
Me and the wife are beginning to look into buying one. I’m assuming not, but wanted to ask. Do they ever run any specials/offers or do any recommendation stuff?
They have a free 1-2 month on the app. They have a discount for essential workers or you can reach out to me via pm and I’ll give you my code and we get 100 off.
Did her 15 min Pilates the other day and mother of god is she amazing. About one minute in she does a warmup move that you won't want to miss.
Dumb question time. I’m at 98 total workout, 89 of which are cycling. When instructors call out for milestones, are they seeing the actual ride number or just total workouts? I assume I’m still 11 rides away from the century mark but wanted to make sure
specific workouts. So if your in a yoga class and you’re about to hit a milestone they’ll call that out. I’ve gotten call outs on strength, yoga meditation and cycling milestones.
Did a recent power zone ride with Dennis. 30min ride mostly in zones 4-5 felt a little rusty during the warmup but then was feeling good once it going going.
I know there’s the actual power zone Program/series on the app itself, but does anyone have a good guide in terms of like what types of rides to do over the course of a couple weeks? I like being able to pick the ride myself for playlist reasons, so figured I’d do that but want to follow some kind of plan.
I'm sure someone has done this already but as a new user I want to express my opinion as well: Kendall Olivia ----------------- Jess Emma Leann ----------------- Hannah C. Robin ---------------- Rest of them
Solid list. Some of the guys like Dennis and Matt are great too. My current list is: Olivia Olivia Olivia Emma Dennis Matt Kendall
Ride 1700 down. I hate having OCD. Once I get close to a milestone ride I can’t think about anything else and I completely obsess over how to make sure I can do a live ride. It’s honestly gets close to debilitating.
Also interested in this. On the last week of the PowerZone program. I am going to look into PowerZonePack, but more likely just going to come up with some sort of a plan going forward that incorporates these type rides in a smart way that doesn’t overload.
I was discussing based purely on sexual attractiveness. Matt and Alex are my two favorite cycling instructors.
Take the stick out your ass. He literally said “sexual attractiveness” I continued that. I guess you just feel like being a fucking douche bag for no reason.
I just did a Denis ride for the first time. My man has less than zero swag but the playlist/instruction was great. I probably would have PR'd if there weren't 5 minutes of arms.
Spoilered for size but I found this on Reddit. It came from a Matt Wilpers post on Facebook. It was from mid-2019 but I’m sure it still applies. Hopefully it pastes OK. Doesn’t say specifically which zones to train though, that’s kind of what I was hoping to find. Spoiler What's Up Power Zone Fans! Remember that just like most things in life, these classes are most effective when you ride consistently. Below are some tips on how you can set up an effective riding schedule for yourself. Step 1: Know what your goals are - Depending on your fitness goals, cycling may or may not be the priority in your workout routine. This will help you answer Step 2. Step 2: Determine how often you can ride a week - From what I have seen, most non-professional riders ride anywhere from 3-6 times per week. If you are strapped for time with life and/or other workouts, people tend to go more towards 3 rides per week. For those where cycling is more of a priority, it's more along the lines of 5+ rides a week. If you are training for an outdoor riding event, at least one of your rides needs to be outdoors every week. Step 3: Space your workouts out - Stacking your workouts on the same day or even on back to back days limits recovery time. While in some instances doing this can make sense, for most, it's best to space them out. Here are some examples of what 3, 4, and 5 ride a week schedule could look like: - 3 Rides a Week: Tues, Thurs, Saturday - 4 Rides a Week: Tues, Thurs, Saturday, Sunday - 5 Rides a Week: Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat, Sun Step 4: Select your workouts - This is where things can be simple or extremely complex. If your goals are general then a simple schedule should work just fine. If you are looking to maximize the value of every second spent on the bike and/or work towards specific goals...this is where things get complex. Below are some simple PZT schedules based for each that you can follow: - 3 Rides a Week: Tues (Easy or Hard)*, Thurs (Easy or Hard), Saturday - **60 Min PZ or PZE Ride - 4 Rides a Week: Tues (Easy or Hard), Thurs (Easy or Hard), Saturday - 60 Min PZ or PZE, Sun (Easy) - 5 Rides a Week" Tues (Easy or Hard), Wed (Easy), Thurs (Easy or Hard), Sat - 60 Min PZ or PZE, Sun (Easy). *Easy generally means Power Zone Endurance (or PZE) and Hard generally means Power Zone (or PZ) or Power Zone Max (or PZ Max). I say "generally" because not all rides within each ride type are equally difficult. **Having a longer ride scheduled each week is a great way to improve endurance. 5) Testing and sticking to the schedule for 4-6 weeks - Once you have your ride schedule set, complete your FTP warm-up and test before you get started so that you know your zones. Then, stick to your riding schedule for at least 4-6 weeks. Test again at the end to see how far you have come! Finally, put together a new schedule for the next 4-6 weeks and get started! For those looking for some good complex schedules and/or train with others, check my "Discover Your Power Zones" on the touchscreen designed for beginners. Lastly, please note that the information provided above barely scratches the surface on what all goes into creating an effective schedule. A case can be made for pretty much any schedule...but what's most important is that it works for you and it's something you can stick to. I hope you found this informative. Thats helpful and kind of what I was thinking I’d work out past this week. I’ve been consistent 5 days a week. Mom Wed Thur Fri Sat Sun. So then it’s how hard to go. Looks like from that post he recommends hard then easy alternating so I’ll build a plan around that idea.
Yeah I try to go 5 days a week as well with Weds off plus a weekend day. I’m thinking I’ll just pick rides that are zones 2-3 and then 4-6 and alternate that...then mix in the 45min or other “hard” rides.
Has anyone taken new instructor Bradley Rose's classes yet? Thoughts? Dropped a new 30 min ride with music that appeals to me today
Just took it. He's probably not for me in terms of breaking into my rotation but I'm glad I tried it. Almost as if John Oliver was an instructor. Would probably be on my list again if he has another strong music class.
Denis and Matt used to have a great PZ program called Stairway to 7 but a lot if the rides were lost in the great purge a few years ago
I’m intrigued. I was going to do his 11 am class yesterday for my 1700 but ended up doing Ben’s. Maybe I’ll take it today.
