My word during lunch is > than after work by a galaxy. I really wish I could do before but its hard for me to get out of myself pity while a lay awake for 2 hours before dragging my ass to the spare room to log in.
Wife ordered the Guide today. Got a Mother’s Day bundle deal so got it for $295 along with a free heart rate band and workout mat. Guess we will see how this goes.
I am interested in an unbiased opinion about it. I go back and forth from it seeming cool to a waste of money.
Anyone got any bike lube they recommend for the “chain,” pedals, other ball bearings, etc? The internet seems split on a few.
All pales in comparison to Daniel Ocean. This year won’t be coming close. In a bike funk and first kid in July.
Three System of a Down only rides - feels like I temporarily got in control of Peloton music programming for a minute I thought they'd keep it safe, but the German dude Erik really went in. He played the song where they scream "fuck the system" front-to-back for 3 minutes, the song about porn, the song about doing a bunch of coke and wanting to kill people, and of course the most overtly anti-way song they have
I did the Spanish one before knowing there was an English one. I clicked english subtitles for the spanish ride, but all the subtitles were in spanish. is that normal? Do they not translate?
looks like it’s more of a hearing impaired thing than a translation thing because the subtitles are in the language the class is in and it doesn’t look like you can change them.
Been without my bike since last Tuesday and I’m very frustrated. They came to fix the front bearings that were making a loud clicking noise every ride. The guy apparently stripped the inner thread that is used to screw the sensor onto the front wheel to measure cadence. this is after sending the wrong part the first time and having to wait another 4 weeks for this part / appointment slot.
Is there an option to tell if a playlist is edited or not? Sorry, I’m not 12, I don’t want edited playlists.
At the bottom of your screen there should be 3 dots. Click on that go to “preferences” and that should allow you to have explicit classes shown. When you click on the class it should tell you if the class is “explicit” or not. There is a section for notes . This class is “explicit”
I feel your pain. My handle bars started wobbling in Feb. Tightened everything I could, didn’t help. Sent the stem portion after I told them it wasn’t the stem. Guy changed it, didn’t do anything. Sent new handle bars at the end of March, guy was just able to get out last week and swap them. Still didn’t fix the problem. I can still ride but it’s annoying esp when I’m out of the saddle.
Peloton had their earnings call yesterday morning. Just bleeding through cash. Results looked pretty bad due to one time charges but needing to get a loan to keep the lights on not a good look. Hopefully they can realize what they are good at and just focus on that as trying to be the Amazon of Fitness.
It’s hard to make sense of how John Foley could do so much good work to make his company a success and then totally blow it to shit in a few quarters.
Yeah, seeing this is pretty common on reddit about repairs. Based on a few other posts, I'm worried that because its the interior part that is stripped, they're going to have to do an entire new frame.
CNN has had a few tweets about Peloton going broke. doesn’t really say what caused them to go broke besides decline in new users and too much inventory.
They needed to sell to Google / Apple / Meta about a quarter or two ago, and after yesterday's earnings, its the first time I'm actually worried about this turning into a huge laundry hanger in our side room if a pedal breaks.
Trying to stroke his wife’s ego and thinking they would be able to build everything in house. Not to mention trying to be the Gucci of fitness, their OPEX is insane. Early on instead of focusing on apparel they should have tried to build off the success and be in acquisition mode for things that complemented (I.e., Tonal). Instead they threw half ass ideas against the wall and focused on things like apparel.
Their apparel was over priced. And had shitty selection for men IMO. I can see the female clothing side bring more profitable. It’s like they put in all the time on leggings and sports bras and were like oh shit what about the guys. Oh here’s a sleeveless shirt and shorts with the Peloton logo.
I got a pair of 'jogger' pants that are the same quality as a pair of Champion grey sweats I could get at Kohls for 9 dollars in April with my redeemed credit. They were half off at $50.
That's crazy to hear about their apparel being a flop. I think I posted about it before but I thought that would have been a hit given how great their marketing was and how hot the athleisure market is. Their commercials had me hooked and I have no interest in their bikes.
My GF really likes the apparel she has and it seems similar in quality to like an Athleta. For men, I have found the couple items I have to be generic quality with their logo on it. For a couple more dollars, I can get something noticeably higher quality at like a Lululemon or Patagonia. I want to like what I have, but it's just not worth the money for men
I've bought $200 worth of apparel from them - all with $100 referral credits and all stuff that's on sale. Between 4 workout shirts and long sleeve shirts, a pair of shorts, and a hoodie, I probably have more apparel than I need (even as a brand enthusiast) and I didn't pay a dollar for it and it was all significantly marked down anyway. Kind of a vicious cycle where - as others have mentioned - the Lulu / ALO / Rhone / etc. stuff is better quality and I can turn through an unlimited amount of those, where I really only want a few things that say Peloton on them.
The Peloton Adidas joggers I got are nice. My wife likes the stuff I got her. She really likes the Sherpa jacket I got her.
Is there even a realistic scenario at this point where the Bike+ or Tread become clothes hangers? I would assume someone will buy the company or they would allow you to pay some fee to use the on demand classes until the hardware breaks.
I don't think so. I think the realistic downfall scenario is that they sunset the products, stop marketing, stop repairing them, and just turn into a digital platform where app subscriptions pay for talent/production and that's it
well now I’m losing my mind. Swore it said “my wife likes the stuff I hit her”. Hit obviously being a typo. I chuckled reading it as “my wife likes the stuff. I hit her.” I don’t really know how to mainboard which is why I’ve posted like 20 times over a ten year period. Going back to lurking. System of a Down ride was good the other day. Carry on.
Does anyone have an issue where you will do an outdoor run/walk and it doesn’t register your distance/metrics on the app while using an Apple Watch? I’ve tried Googling and cannot find a resolution. I’ve got 700+ rides and 100+ indoor runs and never have an issue with the metrics registering, but can never get a metric reading while doing anything outdoors.
it’s hit and miss with for stuff other than basic distance. It will give me my strive score sometimes but I generally have to start the app on my watch manually. I have series 3 so it’s hella old.
How are they not scrapping rowing when they’re burning through cash? They’re so egotistical for their own good.
I realize this has been in the works for a few years but Can’t imagine worse timing for a new piece of equipment with the position of the company.
Will be curious what the pricing is. Have to imagine a healthy cut off of Hydrow and closer to $1k-$1.5k. Even then Concept 2 is $900. Just makes no sense outside of having spent a bunch of time on it. Have to imagine this will fail miserably.
I would def love the class/instructor aspect of rowing to supplement the monotony of just rowing on a Concept 2, but Like you I can’t see people buying this with the company issues and inflation at the moment.
Maybe they think they can create their own hybrid courses like Orangetheory and those that already own a Tread or Bike will get the rower? Probably not going to succeed
Could be the issue is how many people have the room for that? Rowing is just such a tough exercise to implement at home. It is incredibly difficult to use like a bike or tread where doing it consistently and for long lengths of time and while it is a great exercise, it is also so susceptible to significant injury. It is for the diehards and wouldn’t have broad appeal if you ask me. Also coming from someone who did rowing at OTF, loved it and then rarely touch our water rower.
