I do PZ almost exclusively. I also pay 9 bucks a month for a power zone pack sub outside of peloton. They put together 8-12 week programs using rides that already exist within the peloton library. Wilpers music sucks but he’s a good coach. I really look forward to the Saturday morning power zone rides with Wilpers.
Benefit of the new PZ features where you can auto set your zone. Just mute the instructor/music and put on your own.
you talking about the resistance? I don’t have a bike plus (poor). But I do mute the music/instructor at times - just have to pay more attention. I have two Bluetooth speakers that I play the peloton class on and then I have an Alexa in the same room. When music gets shitty I’ll turn the peloton all the way down and play something I like through Spotify on the Alexa. I’m moving soon and will finally have space to fuck around with a proper set up. I’m considering getting a large(ish) tv to cast the class to. I’ve also got a 7:1 home theater system I’ve been dragging around for 10 years that I am going to try and figure out how to use for classes. I’m excited.
Ahh yes talking about the Bike+. There it auto goes to your zones based on the callout during class. Works well minus days you want to press the upper bounds of your zones as it will only keep you on the middle.
What website does those programs? I love Wilpers. Music isn't that bad. I just enjoy his little tips and he's not overly "rah rah" motivational.
PZP challenge ride today was brutal. Made it through though. I remember this ride from previous challenges and cursed to myself as he was going through the ride breakdown, realizing what was about to happen.
She did a lululemon promotion in NYC yesterday. Just working out with her boyfriend teasing the next big thing.
I have been riding to work on a commuter bike the last two summers, so it is slightly skewed. But I’m now at 999 rides
Finally got back on the bike two weeks ago. Getting back into the swing of it with the intro program. I really need a program to just tell me what rides to do. Probably going to hop back to powerzone next week.
Hope everyone had a good peloton year. And a good 2025. Emma should be coming back soon, which will be nice. Leanne looking elite in her recent 20 minute hit and hills and 90s rock ride for those who like such things.
I will be rejoining the club come new years. Not looking forward to it, lol. But I’ve got to do something. Have probably gained 10-15lbs since the twins birth in February.
I’ve been a piece of shit for the last six months, so I’ll be joining you aboard the back on my bullshit train.
Yup the start of the year killed me. Dealing with a house move then was sick with the Noro flu and had no motivation from that. Then just had my gallbladder out. Need to get back into it.
there are a couple things that might help motivate us. 1. First and foremost I am a badge whore. If there is a challenge a badge comes with it I’ll do it. January 1st is the start of the “first 100 challenge” workout every day for the first 100 days. Meditation and yoga count but I don’t think the workout matters as long as you’re doing something. Also they have an ability to set up “teams” seeing each other work out daily might help motivate us to get out and do something. I’m dealing with some stomach bug and a lack of desire to workout so any extra motivation will be great.
Ordered one for Ireland. Have to go to the hassle of driving an hour and an half both ways over the border to the North and then self assembling. Looking forward to getting back to Ben, Power Zones and of course Kendall for a Friday morning treat.
Kendall left Peloton several months ago at this point, her classes are all still available though. Looks aside, why would anyone willingly do a class of hers?
Not sure why anyone would do anyone else’s classes when Charlotte is just sitting right there waiting.
on week 2 of Rebecca Kennedy's 5-day split. Much prefer these 30 minute long strength workouts where you are not moving between 4 different exercises at the speed of sound.
She has a 3 and 4 day spilts that are really good. I have noticed that they all will take sets off to give themselves more recovery time. I do the strength workouts on my iPad so I simply pause the workout to give myself more time to recover. She has a 10 minute chest and back workout that’s great but doesn’t give you enough time between sets. It takes me about 15-20 minutes to do it properly.
I've started to do this with even 30 minute classes. 60 seconds isn't long enough if you need to switch weights or if you finish a little after the 'whistle' I think I'd prefer a 4-day split over 5-day, which is a significant commitment. But willing to do it for the rest of January and move on from there.
her 3 day split is 45 minutes each class ( pull push leg) her 4 day is 2 upper body (different focus) 1 lower all three are 30 and a 45 minute full body, if you want to do the 4 day one I’ll tell you the dates because that one isn’t under “programs” like the 3 and 5 day splits are.
Woke up at 7 for ride 3400 with Emma. Got my shoutout was one of the last ones lol was still half asleep probably my worst 60 minute ride output. I can say it went by fast as fuck. Probably my favorite thing about taking an Emma class is that she makes the time go by fast. I’ll have to take this class again and see if I can do better
that’s two that you’ve gotten from her, right? I’ve done over 1,000 rides and never received a shout out. 3,400 is a big number so maybe you’re higher on whatever list comes up for the instructors? Is your output 5 million?
I’ve gotten a bunch from her I have probably gotten 25-30 shoutouts maybe about 10-15 from her. I noticed that she mostly gives them on 100 rides and not 50s. I’ve gotten some from other instructors but she is the one I’ve gotten the most from. I was a shoutout whore for a while lol
are all of those 1,000 live? You’re obviously not going to get any on non-live rides. Daniel Ocean , that was a good climb ride. Set a new PR.
I know it depends on a lot of factors age/weight/bike calibration etc, but wondering what people's typical outputs are for 30/45/60min rides, out of curiosity
