Gotcha and then the room for you to be behind the bike I am guessing?
my mat is to the right of my bike.
I’ve been doing a lot of the regular boot camps- running and strength training. The bike boot camp was a cool change up. I really enjoyed it.
I don't get it (honestly, not trolling). Why wouldn't I just do a 20/30 min ride and then a floor workout separately, and not F up my ride stats and not have to take shoes on and off? Obviously, that question doesn't matter as much for people who don't do anything with stats.
it’s a better workout. It’s more structured. Well maybe not better but different. Monday I did a 30 min ride and 15 min full body strength. Today I did 45 minute full body boot camp. I felt I got a more intense workout today. I liked it a lot and hope they get a bunch more workouts and hope to do them at least 2-3 times a week.
To be honest the shoes weren’t a big deal.
You must not like bootcamps in general. I do. Comingling the activities makes it go by faster and keeps your heart rate up more consistently.
Starting to get my wind back after not being able to ride for 5 months due to my bike’s broken crankarm. I’ve been riding on a 13-hour fast and finally broke 800 on a 60-minute. PR is 928 but good to see progress again, especially while fasting.
thats crazy. are you getting on there and just cranking up the resistance and going as fast as you can the whole time? or do you follow the instructors cadence but with high resistance?
Generally stick somewhat close to instructor ranges, but I do come out of the saddle with high resistance on some resting intervals.
I'm using the Peloton primarily as a way to supplement my mountain biking. I've only had the bike for 10 days, but yesterday I had 6 Strava PRs on the mountain bike, most by a couple minutes. Maybe it was the cooler weather, but I'm choosing to believe it's the Peloton.
Haven't tried bootcamps, so I was just wondering. I have focused more on doing one activity and then another rather than mixing them together. It does sound like I'm less interested in that style of workout though. A huge personal benefit of riding and other activities I do is zoning out and burning off mountains of stress from work. That appears to explain why I don't get the selling points of bootcamp.
give it a shot. It might not be for you but the one I took yesterday was great. It’s the best workout I’ve done in a long time. Mind you I’ve gone away from the PR and mileage mindset and have adapted a more wholistic (if that’s the right word) mindset.
Me too. The whoop band has caused me to monitor and respect recovery. Ironic that I feel better/stronger working out less. Still do a peloton every day but fewer miles and more yoga now. Also, aint no shame in restorative yoga and recovery rides.
while I did love them l, the mileage challenges were the death of me. Trying to ride 150-200 miles a week was crazy, Getting hurt and changing my focus was the best thing for me.
Did my first tabata ride today. Was a tough but good ride. Easily hit a new PR.
Finally did a power zone with Denis today and really liked it. Nice change of pace from most of the HIIT/Tabata stuff I've been doing.
Here's a slide from the recent investor presentation showing all of the new features on Bike+.
Also, a note about the auto-follow feature. When you turn it on it automatically keeps you in the middle of the resistance range. However, say you want more resistance you can use the knob to move to the top of the range and it'll automatically keep you at the top of the range for the rest of the class. Pretty neat.
Just placed the order for the older bike, will be here November 2nd.
Anyone have recommendations on shoes and a heart monitor? Figured amazon or something would be a better choice.
Recovery days are the best. Foam rolling hurts.
60 mins with Aditi cured my ills.
she is great. Did a recovery ride, foam rolling, stretching, and a restoration yoga today and was great. Only work was core with Emma.
Dipping my toes back into running. It feels great. Ran a 8:00 pace yesterday for a 20 min hiit run with Robin yesterday. Trying to take it slow so I don't hurt my knee, again.
100.8 miles for the week. I’ll probably run 5 miles tomorrow and rest Sunday.
This is why you’re 6’13” and weigh 110.
A few things.
Took Robin’s “all for one class” seriously got me in all the feels. Really felt heart felt when she announced she is pregnant. Good for her and I hope her husband showing up was not planned.
Just went to the doctor and I’ve never been this healthy. Seriously everything. I don’t talk about my age but my best friend just had double bypass. I know people my age on meds. All my doctor told me to do was pay attention of my keto stuff. I can’t control my mental health but my physical is good.
Mix GoodForAnother can we get proper “fan of” for peloton and a proper thread icon?
seriously this is the best health purchase I’ve ever made.
Congrats sir, that's awesome
yeah my doctor told me to cut back an egg or so and throw in a bit more tomato and spinach in my omelette. She was like you’re fine she didn’t tell me to cut back on drinking or anything.
A month ago I went in and my BP was high so she got me a monitor and I took it for a month and it was fine. Yesterday they took it and it was fine. She told me it was probably the white coat thing and because I had just seen my therapist.
You guys are stuck with my shit posting for a while.
I used the Peloton shoes. Had them for 3 year no issues, just changed the cleats out to floating cleats. Have the $60 Garmin HRM that gets the best reviews. Got the mat on Amazon too.
I love reading stuff like this. Thank you for sharing and I'm glad all your hard work is paying off. I too am in the best shape I have ever been in. I went to the lake recently and it was the first time in my life people complimented me on looking fit etc. Vanity isn't the point but feeling and looking good truly improves your life.
wow this site surprises me every day
I asked that useless Taques for this years ago, and he couldn’t do it.
They’re announcing barre classes tomorrow, for those of you with wives who do that stuff.
This kind of stuff.
Can't wait to get my first Barre badge.
if BAE taught a class I’d probably take one.
Anyone do a resistance band strength workout?
No but would like to. Are just under strength workouts?
Yeah you also can filter them by “resistance band” there are only like 9.
Gotta say, Kendall's metal and emo rides have probably inched her neck and neck with Emma for me. Set a new PR yesterday on Kendall's new 30-minute emo ride that got posted last week.
Is there a TMB Whoop team?
Went hard today and hit a 930 output PR and mileage PR of 23.23 miles on a 60-minute ride. Did it while I was fasting too.
Why on earth are you fasting?
Not to body shame but Boo MFer! is over 110 pounds and feels bloated.
It’s an intermittent fast so it really just means that I don’t eat junk before bed and skip breakfast.
Buddy, I wish this were the case. Quarantine and a broken bike were not good for me. At my low point a few years back, I was 178. Now I’m around 215 and would like to get back to around 190 or so.
I mean you’re like 6’5” right? 215 at that height doesn’t seem bad.
Yeah, I’m 6’5”, but I’ve been unhappy with my body for most of my life. When I started spinning, I was 240 pounds and no one would look at me in clothes and say I was fat. But I definitely didn’t like how I looked. The only time I felt good about my body was when I was around that 180 mark.
I get what you’re saying. I had to starve myself to get down to 180 and I’m four inches shorter. I am happiest at 190 or so. I’m 10 pounds from that right now. It is easier said than done but we all need to have healthy and realistic body awareness. I would love to see how I’d feel if I got to 170-175 but I can’t imagine I’d ever be able to get there.
Just did Kendall's 20 minute climb workout from yesterday and that was ridiculously tough. It was the first time that I've stopped spinning mid ride. Her outfit though
My PR today was her 60-minute pop ride. She’s not in my upper tier, but she’s nice to look at.
