Lol I don’t buy that.
Nah, Harbaugh will pay him $5M a year, they won’t beat anyone, and nobody @ um will care. Anyone coaching there would be a fool to leave.
Great hire for Miss State.
At least one school in the state of Mississippi knows how to hire a head coach.
They’re showing now, nvm
He just needs to be on good terms with the man in MS
Don brown to Mississippi State would be so weird, he’s as northeastern as it gets. Besides the culture change, going from spending your entire coaching career recruiting predominantly from elite New England prep schools to recruiting predominantly from Mississippi juco’s would be quite the change. Not to mention he gets total autonomy over the defense and is one of the highest paid coordinators in cfb(~1.4mil/yr) and just finished his first year of a 5 year deal. I honestly wonder if they heard Michigan and assumed it was him but it’s actually lb coach Chris partridge. He’s a former nj high school coach so Moorhead probably knows him and is a rising star and one of the best recruiters in the country. He also has been the one doing all the work for Michigan in Georgia so he has been developing southern recruiting ties.
I’ve got a strong staff if you know what I mean dude
Lol like your dick, right?
Worked well for Arkansas.
The best part about this is that the dude’s handle is a reference to Platinum Plus, a strip club that got shut down for prostitution and dealing ecstasy out of the back.
Moorehead is just using this job to get some southern recruiting ties and experience before he returns to take over for Franklin when he leaves.
Going to 4 OOC games has been huge for State. They load up with 4 gimme wins. So all you have to do is scrape even in the SEC to get to 8 wins and keep people happy. And for that, you get Kentucky every single year, and your biggest rival is about to get hammered by the NCAA. Going to be pretty easy to get to 6. Then you just have to pick off a few of the games against teams that you aren't completely overshadowed by.
That would make no sense on any level unless he just hates Harbaugh
Footballpoop says Moorhead tried but don brown shockingly said no
That's weird, most people jump at the chance for a demotion
He's 44? Fuck, he looks like he's in his 50s
Right, that's why I'm sure a stand up guy like yourself stopped supporting UCLA when they hired Sanduskys protege Tom Bradley.
State College will do that to a man. Compare pictures of Joe Paterno when he was first hired to when he was fired. That guy got super old in his tenure there.
he's gonna really need those Mississippi contacts at Penn State
The stress from covering up child rape for all those years really wore on him
His resume might say "Yankee," but those teeth are Stark-vegas as fuck...
since 2012, Michigan and Mississippi State have the same amount of wins
Since 1989 Notre Dame and Mississippi State have the same amount of national championships.
so? Notre Dame sucks
What's funny about that
Mississippi State fans not wanting Don Brown is kind of funny
It is, but they've got a pretty damned good defense, too.
Don Brown would be my #1 choice for a defensive coordinator.
To be fair, it took some time for the players to get a feel for Joe Mo’s offense. We started 2-2 then a OT win against the Gophers.
Fitzgerald seems to fit the system well.
Wasn't Fitzgerald supposed to be pretty good?
No, he sucks passing
I don’t know much about his offense but isn’t the vertical passing game a big part? If so that’s Fitz’s biggest weakness
The play calling has been odd with the personnel that he inherited at MSU. He has 2 very good backs in Hill and Williams(who ran for 1,000 yards last year) and they seem to not run it much the last 2 games unless it’s Fitz rushing it
9 rushes for hill and 3 for Williams vs UF
8 for Williams and 4 for hill vs UK
Yeah junk the vertical passing and go back to Mullen's running offense that made Fitzgerald a decent qb.
Thanks Dump, so far the results haven’t been too bad
We were really pedestrian until around this time when he first took over as OC. I think he’ll be fine and I disagree that Fitzgerald is a good fit for his offense. He loves taking shots with the vertical pass game and Fitzgerald seems incapable of doing that. Haven’t watched a ton of his games for Miss State though but results have been painful so far.
System can play to the QB’s strength. In Fitzgerald’s case, run the read option then mix in run/pass options to exploit match ups.
Fitz can’t pass period. And when he does put it there the receivers drop it. I’ve started hear rumblings that the players aren’t happy with Fitz. Rumor is he has been making the “selfish” reads to break the rushing record. I have seen several plays that he didn’t give to the RB or hit an open receiver to tuck and run. I don’t have a lot of hope for this season. I’m to the point of let Key play QB so he can get experience this year and be ready for next year.
Mullen left him the most stacked roster I’d imagine MSU has ever had and there were high hopes for this year, now I’m looking and I’m not sure they get bowl eligible
3-2 right now and their schedule ends with
Tech, Shaw and Ole Miss games seem quite winnable.
Ole miss will certainly be the key game
But before the season if I told you their bowl eligibility would come down to the final game you’d say I was nuts based on what they had coming back
I agree completely. Thought for sure this was a 9-10 win team. Talent is there. Just not being used correctly.
They will beat Auburn on Saturday fwiw
That TD drop was a perfect throw, changed the whole game
