Should do the right thing and release Malik Heath from his LOI
There’s got to be a better way to spend your Friday than listening to Jackson, MS sports radio.
If they aren’t cowards, they’ll let Jo'Quavious Marks walk as well.
Was listening on my way to work.
Nice humblebrag about having a job.
Haven’t seen much details but was this bowl game fight that bad that these guys are changing their minds about keeping him?
I think it’s probably more of a convenient excuse.
I think the optics of it are worse than the actual fight. Linebacker punches the QB, QB gets injured from it and can’t play, linebacker goes ahead plays in bowl game
From what I've seen there was a good chance he would've been fired if they lost the Egg Bowl. Without the dog peeing celebration penalty there's a decent chance they lose that game and don't make a bowl.
They were going to fire him if he lost the Egg Bowl, so the only reason he has a job now anyway is probably because of a guy pretending to pee like a dog and a kicker missing the extra point.
Seems a silly reason to have kept him. Supposedly they were pretty far down the tracks with Napier at that point.
Everyone knew "he was not a great fit" two years ago.
This isn’t the same guy?
I remember all the national guys raving about how great of a hire that was.
He was just awful. Mullen wins 11 games with that squad last year. Embarrassing that Moorhead managed to lose 5.
Doubt we’ll see a more talented State squad than the 2018 team any time soon.
he just needed more time
Clearly racism was the driver of this decision
Celemo was a big Moorehead guy
Mullen also wouldn't have completely screwed up the development of Keytaon Thompson.
Well this surprises me. I’m excited to see all the names pop up of who we could hire and then see who we actually hire. I’m hoping they already have the hire lined up.
I’m desperate enough to do what it takes to iron this out
Dream scenario. Hire Napier. Mullen leaves for Dallas. Grantham comes to MSU as DC to be with his son. Kiffin bolts for UF.
Should just say fuck it and hire Freeze
The Oregon Ducks will gladly take Moorehead as our OC.
They should hire Bo Pelini
Are we just throwing out names?
Can you guys imagine if the ghost of JoePa takes the job? Oh man! How crazy would a ghost coach be?
Sark would be a good hire.
While we're throwing out random names, I'd like to put my full support behind southern boy and former Mississippi State assistant Freddie Kitchens. Not often you get an opportunity to hire a guy with NFL head coaching experience.
Moorhead is just the 2nd State coach to finish with a winning record in Starkville since integration. Damn.
He’s one of Feldmans guys - they always get a little more buzz and hype than what is realistically warranted.
Also the first Mississippi State coach since 1937 to win his final game against Ole Miss.
Yes who wouldn’t want a crippling alcoholic to run their program
Yeah anyone associated with Franklin, Feldman loves. Just as thamel loves anyone associated with Urban.
Not only that but I’m pretty sure Feldman did a special long form story on Moorhead when he was some obscure D3 head coach racking up ridiculous offensive stats.
The SBNation guys love him too.
Yep, anyone associated with Franklin gets a boost from Feldman. Feldman should publish an annual list of his 'guys' as they seem to change from time to time, Orgeron, Franklin, etc.
Feldman saying how great Ricky Rahne was as an OC and would be a great head coach at ODU is peak Feldman.
With Moorhead and his Fordham stint, dipshit AP writer Russo was slobbering all over him too.
Most of us PSU guys simply realized he was a good, not great OC who was blessed with NFL talent everywhere...Barkley, Godwin, Hamilton, Gesicki, McSorley, etc.
let us not forget his favorite lover...Cristobal
IIRC Moorhead was also a sportswriter for a time so he's pretty adapt at giving guys like Feldman exactly what they want quotewise.
As much as I am annoyed by Feldman's list of favorites, this was a damn good year for him with Orgeron and Cristobal. All he was missing was a better season from Leach and he would have hit the trifecta on his three favorites.
Josh Gattis did a Feldman piece last offseason and I'm guessing he's going to be the next guy to get the big push from Bruce.
