My parents have a house (for future retirement) on the gulf, and my Mom was there last night. They never thought it'd hit P-cola, and never thought it'd be only 6mph away from hitting as a Cat-3.

My mom's place on Fish River near Fairhope. Top of the boat house is almost covered. She's there by herself. The neighbors took their boat and got her last night since their house sits a little higher. Hoping it doesn't get much worse.

    Update:

The dock and pier are gone but the boat lift and the Whaler attaches are standing strong.

Water is dropping. I'm wondering how some of the low-lying lots are doing though.

posted in the hurricane thread, but Fairhope got waxed. lots several trees and sections of fence. got lucky on the shingles, only lost 3 small spots. crazy damage around town. doesn't sound like power is coming back on tonight.
