We've gotten pretty loose with our definition of perfect.
Man. That's tight. Yakima is in the worst area possible in the state as far as radio is concerned. Ideal for travelling the state, but the tradeoff is zero access to big market radio.
Yes, I just started streaming KISW
mixed or mastered like shit but good
the Weimar Beer Belly
We had a metal show called "Metal Shop" back in the 90's, they may still be running that. It was on late over the weekend w/Belinda Simmons but I doubt she'd still be hosting that.
Thanks for reminding me, another perfect album.
We used to have a complete wild card that was the local tech school station and students did whatever the fuck they wanted. Could run into anything from green apple quick step to slayer. Had a few buddies that were taking the class in high school and getting airtime.
No longer the best Cleveland rap album.
I've always enjoyed me some Green Apple Quick Step
Have you kept up on the Seattle scene? Probably not your style, but head like a kite bailed last weekend because of the pass and I was
it was dead as soon as someone mentioned radiohead
I was going through my CD's tapes and Vinyl this weekend and a few "Perfect" albums.
Steely Dan - Aja
John Lennon- Double Fantasy
KISS- Love Gun
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Cream- Disraeli Gears
I'd argue they have more perfect or near perfect albums than any artist that has walked this Earth. Come at me.
I, for one, am shocked that Joe_Pesci does not like Radiohead based on his other musical interests.
Was gonna say Animals by Pink Floyd, but Shiggityshwo beat me to it. That's my favorite album for long drives.
I'll put this one up for one of the greatest prog albums of all time. Steven Wilson- The Raven That Refused to Sing.
I haven't, moved to SW WA in '96 and followed Portlands scene for awhile.
They still play any Gruntruck or Shoveljerk?
There are tons in this thread I agree with. I love listening to these 2 as well.
System of a Down got mentioned itt before Rumours., which is actually the correct answer to "what is the perfect album"
This fucking generation
The White Stripes "Elephant" is right up there. Listening to it tonight and 'membering how badass it is.
And least surprising choice coming from me:
Beatles: Sgt Pepper, Abbey Road, White Album, Revolver
Outkast: ATLiens, Aquemini
Pink Floyd: Meddle, Animals, Dark Side
Radiohead: Kid A, OK Computer
Notorious BIG: Ready to Die
Michael Jackson: Thriller
Beach Boys: Pet Sounds
John Lennon: Double Fantasy
GNR: Appetite for Destruction
Hendrix: Electric Lady Land
RATM: RATM, Evil Empire
Pearl Jam: Ten
Snoop/Dre: Doggystyle, Chronic
Eminem: The Marshall Mathers LP
I could go on and on, but my favorite two are Meddle and Aquemini.
Pretty sure I was a freshman in high school and it was and still is consistently played in my household. Not a bad track on the album.
Some off the top of my head. Tried to think of only things that are comprehensively good from start to finish, not necessarily my favorite bands or albums that include some of my favorite individual songs
Suck the Cunt of a Black Cat >>>>>>
One of these things is not like the other...the songs on that Arctic Monkeys album all sound the same to me. Though it's one hell of a sound as crystallized in the song "do I wanna know" (and video)
wellllll youuuuuuuuuuuu can hold my dick
Two more egregious omissions: Graceland and Born to Run.
Literally perfect albums and you jamoches are posting 90s nostalgia bullshit.
so the more i listen to this album the more i like it. it has like 20-something songs and a lot of them are weird, but it is really one of the most original albums ive ever heard.
i didnt know who terry allen was until sturgill simpson covered one of his songs a year or two ago
He's a pretty cool dude.
Nick Drake - Pink Moon (forever #1)
Pink Floyd - DSOTM (forever #2)
Radiohead - The Bends
Nina Nastasia - The Blackened Air
This is the best album that almost no one knows about. Sweet sinister Southern folk gothic Americana. Wait for the break at 3:20.
M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming
My Morning Jacket - At Dawn
R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Beck - Morning Phase
Neko Case - Blacklisted
Strangulation....it can ruin the best of moods but I’m gonna stop and listen every time it’s playing.
hey I remember posting about this thread last night
I remember reading your post about remembering this thread last night.
I like sad music.
I knew it
I don't remember that at all.
Becky's always complaining about your blackouts fwiw
wanna hang out
I think I’ll spend the dog food money
