So can we play in-game courses as well as any you might save/download from the online creators?

Nice, I like the created ones because you have the ones that are real courses like Augusta, but also those over the top weird/fun ones.

for a super realistic golf sim the opponent difficulty levels sure as fuck arent very realistic

 

Just paid my TMB CC membership, time to shoot a +12 at TPC Boston.

 

Carinthia Club, Austria is probably my favorite course I played so far. I think I'll make it our 2nd event. Just a really well made user created course

Shot a damn +6 at TPC Boston, had a triple early which screwed me. Definitely had a lot more slow/fast shots than I do offline on the level below Pro.

 

What clubs do you guys use? I feel like half of them aren’t much better than the stock ones you get..

 

i dont use anything fancy but i dont use hybrids

 

ok, we have the next few events setup. we have some good participation so far but i would still like to see more. unlike the current one, all future events will have a bonus purse.

Gonna get my rounds in tomorrow once I’m back home. At the GFs mother’s house using my old ps4 that i gave her little brother.

 

How would you guys like the setup to be?
So far, I have
TPC Boston (3 days, 1 round)
Carinthia Club (3 days, 1 round)
TPC Sawgrass (4 days, 2 rounds)
Royal Portrush (3 days, 1 round)

I'm thinking the next one after that be a major w/ 4 rounds? Repeat that a few times and end it with a championship. How many days should the 4 round ones be, and is that even a good idea?

 

Better than my +16. Shot 11 over on 3 holes. I swear the swing tempo is still fucked in this game.

 

I tried to re calibrate it at the pro difficulty after my round, we’ll see if it helped out later.

Definitely seems like there’s a small window to be “perfect” compared to how easy it is to get a fast/slow.

 

I might shoot +100 if we do 4 rounds but think it'd be fun. I would think a week should be enough time.

 

4 would be cool for the “majors”, and I’d say a week is fine. Could play one per day, or a couple a day and knock it out.

I definitely want to play that Augusta duplicate, looked awesome.

 

My swing may not be 100% consistent every time, but there’s also no way it goes from perfect, to super fast, to slow so easily

 

Had a guy that did a practice swing before every shot in a 1v1. It annoyed me but it seems like a very smart thing to do

 

I lose maybe 3 or 4 strokes every round because the gimme putts forcing you to be super quick with the stick causes a lot of blue line issues.

 

I feel like I have control of my driver on Pro but god damn every iron shot is very slow and I hit it short right. So frustrating

 

when do i get my damn winnings

Every time I think I’m on to something I’ll get a fast/slow swing that makes my ball go like 4 fairways over. It is so inconsistent and makes no sense.

 

+11, maybe my worst round ever. This game pisses me off so bad sometimes lol

 

This course is super tough, honestly. Fair but tough. Really good views

 

I'm tied for the lead at +6. Birdied 17 and eagled 18 to get there

I've been using the standard ones you start with. I don't hit it as far, but I shank way less.

 

Yeah it seems like none of the clubs are that much better than the others. I’ve bought a couple Taylor Made clubs because they have pretty high forgiveness but that’s it.

 

Yeah the course was definitely tough, but still fun. The game itself just frustrates the shit out of me because there’s no way my swing is as different as they claim every other shot.

 

Which one is the best Augusta National?

 

Does anyone sell a clip on that only allows your joystick to go up/down?

 

I’ve never seen that. My issue isn’t keeping the joystick straight, it’s the “fast/slow” tempo thing that seems to fuck me.

 

I can either get one or the other right, but only get both right about 2% of the time.

If I can just focus on tempo, i'd be fine.

 

One thing I notice that I need to stop doing is I get in the habit of flicking the stick up, rather than “pushing” it

 

That was a fun course, but fuck some of those holes. So many highs and lows. Shanked a few in the water and OB and still managed +3. Best round on pro setting yet.

Also why isn't East Lake on the schedule this weekend?

Lol people on Reddit saying don’t promote their Masters courses because they don’t want to get a cease and desist from Augusta.

Do those courses get taken down on 2K??

 

Yea whoever moderates it has been very vigilant the past three editions of this game. People started naming the Augusta courses generic things like “Magnolia Lane CC”, “Azaleas Golf Course” and they still get taken down.

I’ll join the TMB society when I get home though. I’ve played a lot of the past two The Golf Clubs and while this one isn’t perfect, I think it’s a big of an improvement in many ways. Would be down to play in some tournaments and stuff. Did a Ryder Cup type tournament with some guys in last years game which was fun...idk how many active people we have but it wasn’t super difficult to manage.

 

Anybody having issues with putting tempo? Last night three times I placed in the white then it went to short of the white leaving birdies on the table

 

Ive seen this posted on reddit a few times the last couple of weeks.

I also feel like generally it starts back at one speed, then goes about 4x faster the last let’s say 10%

 

Putting in this game is a whore.
