Vice did an El Chapo podcast. It was pretty good, but the full series is only available on spotify which was kinda annoying
player.fm has lots of this sort of stuff hosted for listening or download https://player.fm/series/chapo-2456140
hilarious. i have tried it a few times and it's always just too distracting. i guess you get used to it.
I started Motherhacker on the commute this morning and it was really good. I love Carrie Coon. I don't typically listen to fictional podcasts but I like this one. I started Homecoming but quit after a few episodes. It's amazing the voice cast they are able to bring in for these.
I’m listening too. I think I like Homecoming better than MotherHacker so far. had to rewind the first time I heard Alex from Reply All
it was like a shitty joke. unreal he thought those were worth putting in the podcast, let alone ending on.
Spoiler: Almost didn’t spoiler because mad Basically 2 tweakers doing tweaker things, one uninteresting ghost story, and a mentally ill guy who forgot his meds. Skeptical of Russia and ghost mom. At least next week we get extended interviews on some of the actual good stories.
6-7 hour car ride this afternoon. Need a good podcast. Last year we did Serial for this ride and it made the drive way better. I have 4 episodes of the Tupac/Biggie one that Truman turned me on to. Anyone got anything else? Preferably something that can hold interest from ep to ep.
Now we're talking! Thank you. To Live and Die in L.A. is an investigative and true crime podcast hosted by American journalist Neil Strauss. The podcast follows the disappearance and death of aspiring Albanian Macedonian actress Adea Shabani, who was last seen alive leaving her Hollywood apartment with her boyfriend, Chris Spotz.
Yea Serial was great. We did the Adnan one from Jax to Mobile and Mobile to NOLA. Then started the Alabama suicide one on the way back home but got home before it ended. We finisehd it separately. So yea the true crime one is right up our alley bc it invites who done it conversation.
Critical Role is an American web series in which a group of professional voice actors play Dungeons & Dragons.
Dungeons and Dragons? Not going to judge without listening but that game can't hold my attention. Would be surprised if someone talking about it could. I've been wrong a couple times before though.
Nope. I'm not much of a podcast guy. Serial was really the first one I've really listened to. I'm going with To Live and Die in LA but will put this down as a backup.
I hope you didn’t take the advice about To Live and Die in LA. I have a review of that podcast a few pages back, and basically the conclusion I came to is that none of those folks involved died soon enough.
Radio Rental posted yesterday, and it followed up a few of the stories. The one I was most particularly interested in was the one I've mentioned before, the story where the guy goes to a bar and meets a redhead. Spoiler: Radio Rental Episode 3, story 3 Anyway, his theory is that he survived the Smiley Face Killers Does anyone have a podcast on the topic in the spoiler?
I stopped listening to Motherhacker. I was really really disappointed. Carrie Coon is good and it's well produced, but the writing is awful. First thing Gimlet has put out that I've been down on.
Looks like there are quite a few episodes of crime podcasts, but no series I’m finding. I’ve heard that a lot of professionals think the theory is BS.
