Then Darian can share her story about a creepy guy that made an e-life with here.
Stumbled across this new podcast called American Jihadi
American journalist is telling a story of an american kid who went to Somalia to fight for Al Shabaab. The journalist tried to track him down for years with no avail. Now the kid randomly reached out to him.
Just 1 episode so far, but it was good. Could be promising.
I mean what is everyone's thoughts on this?
Hollywood Handbook is the best show in the world
Did you listen yet? Annnd did they hit you up?
He's told it twice on his podcasts, but Robert Evans (Behind the Bastards, Worst Year Ever) going to Capitol Grille and using the wrong spoon for his soup, then the waiter asking him if something was wrong w his soup spoon is hilarious.
Missing Maura Murray put their episodes back. Started slow and a little rough, but I’m now intrigued. Ep 7.
Tupac and Biggie Slow Burn kind of sucked.
The Catch and Kill is riveting, its by journalist Ronnan Farrow that broke the Weinstein stuff to the New Yorker. Also, just continues to show how much of a complete dirtbag Weinstein really is/was.
I didnt realize he was doing a podcast on it. I read the book. It was incredible. Will have to check out the podcast.
I havent read the book, but most of the pod reviews say its completely different from book and a good compliment to it, so def. worth the listen.
Not sure if it’s been mentioned in here but the Koncrete Podcast YouTube videos of former real estate con artist turned true crime author Matthew Cox are pretty great. Dude can spin a yarn.
The 1st interview details his mortgage fraud and run from the law:
The second deals with his 12 years in federal prison and subsequent release:
The third deals with his latest book about a financial adviser he was in prison with who embezzled millions, (Not as good as the first 2 but a decent listen):
Do any TMB members have a podcast
that didn’t get them cancelled from national TV
Larry Sura has a pretty famous one
I also have never been kicked off a tv show.
Andre 3000 went on Rick Rubin’s podcast. He seems like he’s in a terrible place.
Just saw the cliffs. Hey Ya will do that to a guy.
Has anyone checked out Blood Ties?
Cliffs? What happened?
Just a lot of talk about loneliness and not being able to create anymore at this stage of his life. There was more to it but that was my major takeaway.
Tried listening to Solve. It seems like they just plant one clue in there to force the answer to be what they want and try and disguise it with the other 30 minutes. The outcomes don’t make sense.
yes i liked it. but there are a lot of ads and they haven't dropped all the episodes yet. It felt like a tease to try to get people to buy Wondery premium before the holidays.
Unsure if people have discussed here, but Michael Lewis’s podcast is phenomenal. The common theme is the loss of independent referees in life to protect regular people from larger institutions (ie people vs banks or people vs the media). The storytelling is great, and there are very limited ads.
on the contrary, I was heavily disappointed with this newest season of slow burn about Tupac vs B.I.G. Story telling wasn’t the best, and it was ad overkill. The episode about Tupac getting shot and killed in Vegas was 35 minutes and had 5 ad breaks...
Binged most of this on a holiday road trip (still have a few episodes left). Holy shit. What a horrifying experience (the murders, not the listen).
That was roughly the same feeling I got trying to muddle through the first episode.
Ep 1 is a really bad take on Dirty John
Boomtown is decent. Not something I imagined would be as interesting as it is.
I just started listening to “serial killers.” Started with their latest 3 parts on Jeffrey dahmer. The subject matter is fascinating. It’s really well researched and laid out as well. The only strange thing is the hosts sound completely robotic, but it’s actually a good change from all of the other true crime pods where they tend to ramble
The new Maron with Pitt and Leo was a fun listen.
New Secret Societies podcast from Parcast
13 Minutes to the Moon is fantastic
the Texas Monthly one?
hey TMB ! Honestly .
What did you think or not , would happen to your mother , wife , girlfriend , grandma ? when Sharon died ?
did YOU HONESTLY THINK I was going to do without sex ?
play crossword puzzles and retire ?
your a idiot .
shuld respect your mom she has a baby maker for Christ sakes --- fuck .

Season 3 of Monster is fantastic (at least so far). It's about the DC sniper.
I stumbled across BBC Documentary this weekend. It's kind of a The Daily type podcast w mini documentary/news stories from around the world. Listened to a few this weekend. Pretty good.
The Chasing Cosby pod is good
Is it just three eps in so far? Any idea how long it’s supposed to be?
Yes and not sure
It’s pretty good. I have an autographed copy of his boarding pass when he flew out of my gate. He went down on the plane early and I took pics of him with the flight attendants for them. This was shortly before the allegations were blown open. Thinking a lbout that with the context that came out since is weird. At the time it was a cool moment.
Enjoying it so far. I certainly remember it but probably didn't process at the time just how terrifying it would've been to live there at the time.
I usually love Wondery but Blood Ties is awful. It’s about as tactful as a Saved by the Bell PSA. Anyone remember “SAY NOPE TO DOPE?” and Johnny Dakota?
I don't like the main host's voice from Wondery shows
Blood ties started off strong and was just disappointing down the stretch. I felt dumber by the end of it.
Feel the exact same way. It felt like they were attacking my intelligence with the lack of subtlety. I'm all for a good message, but that was more like a slap in the face.
Same group that made the Elizabeth Holmes podcasts is doing one on WeWork. WeCrashed.
Havent listened yet, but IM sure it will be good.
Listened to the first 2 episodes today. Thumbs up so far.
Holy shit. Do yourself a favor and listen to The Dollop episode on Adolphus Cooke. Absolutely amazing.
