There is so much of this game I don't know. Rape Ape just blew my mind... I'm still over here just catching, and hatching eggs and having fun with it
I didn't get into gyms until 23-24 and I don't live in an area where every gym has 8 3k CP Dragonite/Snorlax/Rhydon in it so if you're not up there yet just catch stuff and hatch eggs like everyone else because the odds are you don't have a good enough team to make doing gyms worthwhile. everyone can do them because defender CP scales with your attackers but there's still a point where you'll just be tossing yourself at a wall and slowly chipping it away whereas if you wait until your mid-20s to make a viable team you can pretty much do what you want.
hatched Magby just now which I'm happy because I wanted to get all the 10k babies hatched during the event before it became considerably harder to hatch them due to RNG. I now have all the babies minus Cleffa and am 15 candy (1 hatch) from Togetic.
I'm level 22 now, and just now figuring out how to catch and evolve to level up...so making some progress now.
Tell me about lure modules, I've tried to use them but the game won't let me. I thought they worked at PokeStops the 4-5 times I've tried, it says they aren't available
You have to add it when you have the pokestop page up, not from your bag. There will be a slot above the circle showing the pokestop picture you can click on
Just got another god damn Elekid from my 10k egg. Hit level 25 today, and I'm noticing it's a whole lot harder to catch these little bastards. Even 10 CP caterpies are taking several balls or running after a toss or two. I have a 726 CP wartortle (87 IV) and a 444 squirtle (83 IV) and 137 squirtle candy. Which one do I evolve into blastoise? Will the squirtle have a much higher CP as a blastoise than the wartortle?

Thanks for the link and help. You think I should wait until I've found a much higher CP and better IV squirtle? I feel like that's a low CP for a blastoise, but at the same time idk when I'm going to come across a better squirtle...
Squirtles are tough to find where I'm at without this current event so I'd just go for it. I caught a wild Blastoise that was at 1212 but that's the only one I've ever seen.
wait until the event is done to evolve anything. as it stands you should evolve the Wartortle because you'll have 37 candy left to power it up. if you evolve the Squirtle you have 12. besides, the difference in CP when you evolve the Squirtle is like 2 power-ups worth which is negligible. it's basically the same pokemon only you come out 21 (25 for evolve minus the 4 you'd spend to get it past the 781 the other one would be) candy ahead.

Starter event is over. Hoping for a double xp event next (or they do the walking event again... need to go for my second dragonite)
5 Venusaur 3 Charizard 4 Blastoise I'd only consider a few of them to be utterly worthless although only 1 Charizard will ever really be used by me right now (Wing Attack/Fire Blast). Got 2 best O moveset Blastoise and another with the second best. Two best O moveset and 2 best D moveset Venusaur. Pushed 140k XP and 180k Stardust because of the event.
Kinda hoping for an ice themed event with the weather just for the sake of filling out my pokedex, namely Jynx/Seel/Dewgong
hatched my way to all 3. a Seel nest migrated in at the local college about a week after but that Jynx was the bane of my goddamn dex for the longest time. now it's Chansey.
Jynx and Chansey have never been an issue for me. Currently sitting on two Chanseys with 41 candy and 76 Jynx candy. Walked my way to a dewgong. Currently walking to a dodrio and will have to do the same for weezing and muk. Still don't have a fucking lapras, gyrados, or even a dragonair
yea if you didn't get on the Dratini train in the first couple months of the game then you're SOL usually. I bet 80% of all my Dratini candy came from that time, now I'm lucky to see a couple a week these days. got really lucky with Weezing and caught a low CP one when I was in my teens. I've just passed 50 Koffing candy at almost level 26 now. Chansey is going to be a nightmare unless they make it slightly more common to spawn because of the gen 2 evolution. if they drop another x4 walking event that's when I'll make my Muk otherwise that's pretty much a fantasy right now. the rest of my dex should be finished soon, though. e: forgot about Porygon and Hitmonchan. so much fuckery. hopefully they'll introduce Tyrogue soon, the baby version of Hitmonchan/Hitmonlee.
I'd take seeing a couple dratini a week. Haven't hatched any and the only one I've seen, I caught in Chicago. So yeah, I have 3 dratini candy
I just fired up the game for the first time in months and caught a Magikarp that then turned into a Ditto. Cool story.
on behalf of everyone who had to grind 100+ pidgeys/ratatas before finally catching a ditto. FUCK OFF
Did most of u guys catch or hatch your high level Snorlax. Still have not gotten one higher than 500 in wild.
seen 2, caught 2. one was 300 cp. other was 43... i drove around looking for that sob for 10 minutes too...
Hadn't seen one ever until this past weekend. Then caught a 1900 and 900 one over the course of two days.
does exactly what real ditto does. transforms into the pokemon it is facing and has the same moveset. pokemon go ditto doesn't have the same CP as its opponent though
