It's the craziest thing. I've only been playing since Dec 31 and I've been slowly building up my candy and then today BOOM!!! the Pokestop outside my ofc has been spitting out Magikarps literally every 3-4 minutes all day
So I haven't played in months and prerecordedlive enticed me to get it again. The way you guys are talking it seems like a completely different game.
I don't know what the fuck Rape Ape is talking about 90% of the time. I'm level 21 and have not one been to a gym. I just evolve the guys with high CP and good looking move sets. I just wanna catch em all.
I'm all about the collecting personally been to the gym a couple times. Got my ass handed to me once or twice, won once...most of the time I beat the first 3-4 battles and then I'm done.
Rankedboost.com has all the new mons and theit stats. So far best site I have found to dig for what's good.
Tried the eevee name trick for an umbreon and it didn't work for me. Not looking forward to renaming/reorganizing my pokemon once all the attacks and tiers are recalculated. There's probably gonna be another rebalancing soon, right?

https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/ is the best site. they're currently compiling gen 2 moveset data, I suspect their new rankings will be out in a week or less. rankedboost has a super bad egg list at the bottom and their attackers way off (defenders less so but that should be fairly obvious).
I see like no Larvitar in my area, that's unfortunate. Dratini seem to be spawning more, though, so not all bad. Dragonite's still great.
saw this octillery which i felt like past two days has come up as one of better gen 2 pokemon. 360 cp only when i came across it. sucks. then sudowoodo pops up at 26 cp. figure if you're in a 10k egg you shouldn't be that low...
base capture rate for all gen 1 has been increased by 25%. also Togetic is in the wild but has no base capture rate (a bug or not?) so it defaults to 1%. people are reporting spending ungodly amounts of great/ultra balls on it so be forewarned. I'm thankful I only have 2 candy to go.
nothing 100% confirmed but a lot of people reporting an evo item as guaranteed from their 7th day spin. possible to get otherwise, obviously, but this way seems guaranteed (and would make sense). also seems like you can only have 1 of each kind at a given time but again, not sure on that one.
I'll have day 7 tomorrow, I'll see if one is there. I've gotten one dragon scale and nothing else from well over 100 spins.
Tyranitar spawned in the city next to mine super early this morning. seeing some Larvitars and 1 Pupitar around my city but weren't worth me getting up to go get them. he's supposedly in the same mountain fairy biome as Dragonite, which we get 1-3 of a day so will be interesting to see if that holds true. caught a couple Meganium (Chikorita's 2nd evo) today, the stardust/candy boost is really nice for something that is fairly easy to catch. saw 1 idiot claim a gym and put an 1800 Blissey there like a fuckboi but he was gone a few hours later. then I saw a level 10 gym with Blissey at the bottom and was like good job. my enthusiasm for gyms isn't so great now, though. I hope they'll put out a balance patch soon.
1500 CP Snorlax and I decided to test my luck with a Nanab and it worked. likely going to save those exclusively for Snorlax, Dratini, and Larvitar but the green/yellow ring versions. should be a real boon if used properly.
