the Eevee I posted and made an Espeon got the worst moveset so it's going to collect dust and the level 25 96 IV Dratini I got today gave me Steel Wing/Hurricane so it's garbage too. 2600 CP and I will probably never use it except as maybe a trash defender. some really shitty luck lately. I had built up a healthy amount of Dratini candy so I just need 25 to make another Dragonite and hope for a better moveset.
OK I feel better about recent shitty evos. 84 IV with that moveset in the wild, had to drop things and go see.
the gods smiled upon me today. a 98 Dratini, the highest I'd ever seen. and it was max level. fuck yessssssssssssssssssss. my first 3k pokemon, too.
if it makes you feel any better I was taking some friends around with the alerts and helping them fill their dexes and catch awesome shit and we went to a 98 Magikarp spawn and not only did that guy run on me but so did the Magikarp Ditto beside him. Spoiler it was low level and I have a perfect Magikarp anyway. also fuck Ditto.
thinking about getting back in the pokemon go game, haven't played it since it launched there is so much more shit, iv calculators and new pokemon,
took down a 9 gym to 2 today for fun. I would have cleaned it out but my dumbass collected for the day beforehand so putting something there would just be a waste of a Revive and pots. still would make people prestige against a 2800 HP Vape which is really hard imo as HP is the toughest move to dodge imo because it comes so fucking fast. I'll clean it out tomorrow for sure. really getting to the point now where I'm starting to come into a wealth of riches for gyms and it's a lot less "use Vape and Snorlax" and more "hmm I wonder how this guy will do" which is fun. Alakazam is a shitload of fun to attack with if you're a good dodger (he's a glass cannon) and even though the energy generation isn't as good, I like Psycho Cut over Confusion because I hate slower quick moves (Confusion, Mud Slap, etc). 17 candy from a 93 Tyranitar although I'll need like 60 more candy to max it. Pinap is such a god tier item.
Eeveelutions skew towards your biome slightly, the rest is just RNG. I've got grass/water around me so I have more Vapes (11) than Jolts (9) than Flares (5). I hear people with Electric biomes around them favor Jolts and Arid biomes favor Flares but it's never a huge disparity. The evolutions are cheap for a reason anyway. Just hatched a 96 Dratini so it's my next project.
Found a forretress at universal which was cool. Found a gym with an opening too at 1 am after people were leaving and figured I'd put my gyarados in since its probably my best. Figured I'd have it overnight till park opened again. Nope. Done in No time. Gyms make no sense to me. I don't know how you guys keep them in there for more than 20 minutes. Plus there's so many spoofers who take them right when they go down it makes it unplayable.
couldn't wait for candy for max level, wanted to see what he'd be and I'm beyond happy. his best moveset. still need a week or so to get enough candy to max but will be well worth it. if you wonder how big the disparity is between him and even Dragonite, my 98 I posted above is maxed at level 29.5 at 3008. this 93 Tyranitar maxes at 3068.
got an alert for Hitmontop while I was making my Ttar post and I was super confused since I was under the impression you had to evolve him. I don't know why I reached that conclusion. I had gotten lucky and my only Tyrogue hatch led me to him very early in gen 2. Chan and Lee are uber-rare(like once every 3-4 weeks each) in my city and Top had never popped up on my alerts in all of gen 2. this motherfucker was like trying to catch old Dragonite. he moves constantly and he jumped out of a lot of Ultra/Razz on the first jiggle. took me 8 Ultras (and 2 dumb Greats early before I got smart) to get him. I don't use 8 Ultras to catch near max level Dragonites these days.
So what's the deal, is tyranitar also a mountain biome spawn? I've never ever seen or heard of a dragonite in my biome, though they're all over the gyms, and I've yet to see any tyranitar spawns on the scanners. Larvitar very occasionally more south but nowhere close enough for me to get.
Dragonites and Tyranitars (and Larvitar/Pupitar) are mountain biome spawns, yes. The latter is good because all 3 forms are in the same biome as opposed to Dragonite where it's in one and the other two are in water. I've caught like 11 or 12 Dragonites and only 2 were by chance (non-alerts) but I'll be thoroughly surprised if I ever have a Tyranitar spawn for me freely. Tyranitar itself is far more rare with my city only having 3 ever and we can get 3-4 Dragonites a day most of the time. I see Pupitar once or twice daily and Larvitars about 6-12 times a day. I did get the last 80 candy really quick but I got the scanners readjusted to cover my area better and there's a lot more really close to me than I knew, stuff that I don't hesitate to get in the car for as opposed to the old stuff where I only grabbed a Larvitar if it was near other stuff I was going to get. Hopefully Ttar #2 will come quicker with the new scan area. if I did nothing but catch all of those I saw I'd probably have a good amount of candy but I just get what's near me unless it's a stupid high IV or unless I'm in the area and I try to Pinap just about all of them (I Pinap'd a 350 CP Tyranitar). If you want this thing you should absolutely do the same because as far as 3rd stage evos go it will take you the longest by far if you just do normal catches. If you're lucky you'll hatch one (they're 10% of all 10k eggs) and get 20-30 candy to help. Colorado seems to shit them out, though. Boulder got 6 Tyranitars yesterday.
that's how I got my tyranitar; I pinap'd two of them after hatching 2 larvitars & using my main one as my buddy; boom a 100 candy for an awesome tyranitar.

made a 2nd Umbreon, it got Feint Attack/Dark Pulse so I'm happy. 2 DP Umbreons now so I'll stop there but it's a good prestiging base. hatched a 2nd Onix after I hatched none in gen 1 era. just need 1 wild Onix and the item and I can make Steelix. walking the last 10 Porygon candy now. all told I need 35 total Omanyte/Onix/Porygon candy and I'll be totally done with candy for dex purposes.
